Jamcj Franklin Conser, held June 25 at Sa cred Heart Catholic church here. The Rev. John Ilg cele brated the double-ring nuptial mass at 12 o'clock noon, and the reception which followed was at Girls Community club. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Irene Kirkebon McKin ley, 1102 West Ninth street, Medford, and Lt. Col. (ret.) L. J. Conroy, El Paso, Tex. Mr. Conser's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Conser, Junc tion City, Ore. For the ceremony, attended by about 100 guests, the bride wore a gown of meri-mist fashioned with portrait neck line, short sleeves and con toured skirt. Overtiers of tulle were finished with scalloped hemline and en hanced with lace medallions where the scallops formed points on the skirt. The bride's head covering was a half hat of matching meri mist which held an elbow length veil and her bouquet was a cascade of blue and white carnations centered with white roses. Mrs. Neil Murphy, the for mer Nancy McKinley, was matron of honor for her sis ter. She wore a white and blue moire cocktail length frock and carried a cascade of blue Shasta daisies. ' Chester McKinley escorted the bride to the altar, and John Conser Jr., Corvallis, Ore., was best man for his brother. Neil Murphy, Med ford, brother-in-law of the bride, and Jon Lang, Port land, were ushers. Neal Con ser, another brother; and Mi chael Paup were acolytes. Miss Mary Robinson played the wedding music and the church was decorated with Sanda Ann Johns (Landii photo) Couple to Wed In Spring Rites Glendale Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A, Johns announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Ann, to Douglas Alan Cameron, son of Mrs. Barbara A. Cameron, 803 West Eleventh street, Medford. Miss Johns, ' who attended Glendale High school, Is em ployed by the Mail Tribune. Mr. Cameron was graduated from Medford High school in 1058 and is employed at Fir Ply, Inc. ' The couple plans a May wedding and will reside in Medford, pink gladiolus and Shasta daisies. For the reception Miss Eli zabeth Betshart and Mrs. Jon Lang cut the wedding cake and serving punch were Mrs. Helen Murphy and Miss Caro lyn McQuigg. Mrs. John Con ser Jr., took charge of the guest book. The bride's mother wore a blue silk chiffon print gown with navy blue accessories and a white carnation corsage for her daughter's wedding. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a navy blue sheath worn with green accessories and white carnations corsage. In Medford for the wedding were the bridegroom's par ents and his grandfather, R. The newlyweds will remain in the valley for the orcsent and after July 14 will make their home In Santa Ana, Calif., where the bridegroom is assigned to duty with an electronics unit. The bride is a gradunte of Jacksonville High school and attended Oregon State college for two years. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Jack sonville High school. California Pair Set Wedding Day Hornbrook - Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Walsh announce the en gagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sharon Jean, to Vernon Alvln Wagner, Etna, Calif., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ahlgren. Their wedding Is planned for July 23 at the Methodist church In Yrcka, with white accessories. The couple will be in Junction City until' August when the bridegroom, an officer in the United States Air Force, will leave for England where he will be assigned to duty. Mrs. Conser will follow later. Mrs. Conser, a graduate of St. Mary's High school here, also holds a degree in educa tion from Marylhurst college. Lieutenant Conser was gradu ated from the University of Portland this year and re ceived his Air Force commis sion at that time. . McDowell-Myers Rites Held in Medford Church Central Point - Miss Carol Mae Myers, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Ivan R. Myers, 121 Manzanita street, became the bride of Richard LeRoy Mc Dowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McDowell, 434 Manza nita street, June 10. The double - ring wedding ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock in the evening at West Main Church of Christ, Med ford. H. O. Martin officiated, and approximately 150 guests attended. She wore a ballerina -length gown of Chantilly lace over satin with satin cummerbund. Her fingertip-length veil was held by a crown of seed pearls and she carried an orchid encircled by white carnations on a white Bible. Miss Ashton wore a yellow taffeta frock with a matching chiffon overskirt. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Scrlber Sr., Grants Pass, attended the couple. Mrs. Scriber is Mrs. Garrett's niece and name sake. Mrs. Yetta Flowers, Medford, also was present. The newlyweds traveled to the state convention of the Eagles lodge in Eugene on their honeymoon. They were surprised at their h 0 m e Wednesday evening by a cha rivari given by over 50 mem bers of the local Eagles lodge and auxiliary. Mrs. Henry Ruch presented a gift from the group to the honored couple. Potluck supper was served. Couple Married In California Gold Hill - Mrs. Mary Sutherland, well known Gold Hill woman, and John E. An drdeu, Oakland, Calif., were married Friday, June 24. The afternoon ceremony was held at Little Chapel of the Metho dist church in Hollister, Calif. The Rev. John Hays, pastor of the church, officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clabaugh of Palo Alio, Calif., attended the couple. The bride wore a bronze colored two-piece ensemble, with sand beige accessories. Her corsage was a bronze or chid. After a wedding trip to Car mel and other points along the coast, the couple will re turn to Gold Hill where they plan to make their home with her sister, Mrs. Nora Wait. Mr. Andrdeu is a retired American Can company em ployee. Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Sand berg and two children, Saga and Steve, and Miss Elsie Todd left yesterday for Cen tral, S.D., to visit friends and relatives. the bride, was flower girl. Charles Dorrell, Grants Pass, brother-in-law of the bride groom, Gene and Albert My ers, brothers of the bride, and Forrest Cook were ushers. Over 100 guests attended a reception which followed in the church. Mrs. Don Ander son and Mrs. John Bigham served cake. Mrs. Ernest Smith and Mrs. Charles Dor- rell served punch and Mrs James Gann and Mrs. Norman Mayfield poured coffee. Miss Pat Striplin was at the guest book. Gifts were cared for by Miss Alice Thompson, Miss Kathy Straus, Miss Wan da Smith and Miss Linda Do ran. Others assisting at the reception were Mrs. Kenneth Bigham, Mrs. Dale Bigham, Mrs. Roy Patten and Mrs. H. O. Martin. The young couple traveled to the Oregon coast on their honeymoon, the bride wearing a green silk sheath dress with matching chiffon jacket. Both the bride and bride groom have lived in Central Point all their lives and are graduates of Crater High school, He Is employed by Daugherty Lumber company. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jo- s e p h Campbell, Cornvllle, Ariz. Elder W. Floyd Breese, Longvicw, Wash., former pas tor of the Medford church, of ficiated at the eight 0 clock evening rites attended by 250 relatives and friends. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white brocaded nylon. It was lash ioned with fitted bodice and flared skirt. Her fingertip length veil was held by a tiara of white leaves and she car ried white carnations and baby rosebuds. Miss Carolyn Glassford, Arlington, Calif., was maid of honor for her sister. Miss Pamela Rcdmer, Gaston, Ore., and Miss Carol Ann Camp bell. Paradise Valley, Calif., sister of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. They wore pink frocks and carried white carnation bouquets. Miss Melody Brown, Port Open House At Scout Cam Open house will be held at Girl Scout Camp Low Echo Monday, July 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all interested adults and their families, par ticularly parents of campers. Picnic tables will be available for families wishing to bring their lunch. Coffee and punch will be served. Council board members will serve as host esses and camp staff mem bers will be on hand to show visitors around the camp site, and answer any questions about the program and facili ties, according to Mrs. T. R. Lytic, established camp chair man. First session begins July 8 and closes July 13. All camp ers leave from and return to Hawthorne park, across from the Red Cross Chapter house, 60 Hawthorne street. Med ford. No girls arc to travel to camp via private automobile. Buses, leave promptly at 12:30 p.m. and girls are urged to ar rive early and have their baggage tagged with their name. The balance due on fees and health cards must be In the Scout office by Tues day, July 5. No money will be accepted at camp. According to Mrs. Lytle there are a few openings In the second session, July 14 through 24, and registrations are still being taken for third and fourth sessions, July 24-August 4 and August 5-15: Program includes swim ming, boating, canoeing, crafts, archery, nature study, hiking, unit cookouts, unit overnights, hayrides, picnics and music. Mrs. Lytle reported that the third session of Pioneer unit Is closed. However, there are a few openings in second session and registra tions are being taken for fourth session. This unit is for girls 14 years of age or older or going into the ninth or tenth grades. Program in this unit is centered around primitive camping and in cludes cooking two meals a day on altar fireplaces, sleep ing under the stars, swim ming, boating, hiking and a , pack trip. The couple traveled to Escondido on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for traveling a pink suit with white orchid corsage.
