Hearing Asked in
Post Office Move
Portland -ll?t'- The battle to
keep regional postoffice head
quarters from being moved to
Seattle continued today as
Rep. FxJith Green (D-Ore.)
asked for a congressional hear
ing. The plans to move the head
quarters from Portland have
drawn a storm of protest from
Oregon leaders since they
were announced earlier this
week.
Mrs. Green said she has
asked Congressman Tom Mur
ray of Tennessee, chairman
of the postoffice and civil serv
ice committee, to get the
transfer held up until hear
ings can be held. She said if
she didn't get satisfaction
there she was prepared to ask
the government operations
committee for a hearing.
Rep. Walter Norblad (R-
Orc.) also criticized the move
and said he hoped the order
would be rescinded.
