Copple in a ceremony June 18 at the First Presbyterian church. Dr. D. Kirkland West officiated at the three o'clock afternoon rites attended by 100 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Dunn, 2444 Biddle road. Mr. Copple is a- son of Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Copple, formerly of Med ford and now of Springfield, Ore.. Mrs. R. A. Sheldon played the organ music for the double-ring rites and accompan ied Miss Mira Frohnmayer, soloist. ' Baskets of pink and white gladioli and palms decorated the church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown fashioned with lace bodice and tiered nylon tulle skirt. Her fingertip length veil was held by a cap of lace and seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and pink rosebuds. Mrs. James W. Grey was matron of honor. She wore a turquoise nylon organdy frock with balloon sleeves. Other attendants were Mrs. Richard McLouglhin, Miss Donna Witter, and Miss Nyla Murray. Their frocks were styled as the honor attend ant's but in aquamarine blue. Their headdresses matched their dresses and they carried bouquets of chrysanthemums encircling pink rosebuds. Flower girl was Kathy Car Ion, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Carlon. Larry Copple, Springfield, served as best man for his brother. Richard McLoughlin, Larry Perkins and Robert Abel, Sacramento, Calif., seat ed the guests. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the church. Mrs. Joe L. Fader, Ashland, and Mrs. Harry Dunn, Central Point, aunts of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. Ermoil Koch, Eugene, aunt of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Ken neth Murray presided at the punch bowls. Mrs. Robert Abel, nee Nancy Bessonette, was in charge of the guest book. Miss Louise Fader, cou sin of the bride, was at the gift table. The couple traveled to swimsuits that draw second glan and Mri. Richard L. Copple (Landis photo) Washington state and Victo ria, B.C., on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for traveling a black and white sheath frock with white pic ture hat and black patent leather accessories. Her cor sage was of carnations. The couple are making their home at 1836 Woodiawn drive, Medford, this summer and in August will move to Clarkston, Wash., where the new Mrs. Copple will teach first grade in the public schools. Mr. Copple will work for Fluhrer s Bakery this sum mer and return for his senior year at Washington State uni versity, Pullman, this fall Koester-Laborde Service Held in Friends Church Eagle Point - Miss Virginia Geraldine Laborde, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Laborde, became the bride of Paul Ger ald Koester, Saturday, June 18. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Koester, Los Angeles. Pastor Clynton G. Crisman performed the d o u b 1 e-ring ceremony in Medford Friends church. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of white nylon with a lace bodice, three-quarter-length sleeves, and a white tulle fingertip-length veil. She carried a corsage of red roses and white stock on a white Bible. Attendants were Mrs. W. C. Fillman, Yuma, Ariz., and Mrs. C. L. Cole, Eagle Point, both sisters of the bride. They wore "look alike" dresses of pastel blue with matching ac cessories. The bride's mother wore a blue and white dress and the bridegroom's mother chose a blue suit. Jack Herburger, Rogue Riv er, served as best man and Don Martin, also Rogue River, was usher. Following the wedding a re ception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Ernest White was in charge of the refreshment table. Miss Dorothy Dubay, Medford, took care of the guest book. The bride's father also was honored at the reception, the jean my dean... Mr. Copple is also a graduate of Medford High school. Among the out of town guests were Mrs. J. W. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Freder icks, Mr. Koch, all Eugene; Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Hanscam, Manson, Wash.; and Mrs. Anna Harmon, Grants Pass. Prior to the wedding the bride-elect was honored at two showers. One was given by Delta Delta Delta social sorority at the university and one in Medford by Mrs. Mur ray. wedding date being his birth day anniversary. Approximately 50 relatives and friends attended. Those from out-of-town, in addition to members of the wedding party, included the bride groom's parents from Los An geles; W. C. Fillman, brother-in-law of the bride, and chil dren, Yuma; and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Laborde and family, Tracy, Calif. The young couple will make their home in Newhall, Calif., following a wedding trip to southern California. Couple Returns From Vacation; Family Arrives Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hess, 1955 Sunset drive, have re turned home after spending several days with friends and relatives in Moorcroft and Huett, Wyo. Living temporarily at the Hess home are Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Bean and their family, who are moving here from Columbus, Miss. Mrs. Bean is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hess. In Gold Hill Gold Hill - Mr. and Mrs. Sam Porter of Vancouver, Wash, were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Gribble in Gold Hill. hart's Putnam-Murray PF adding Held St. Mark's Episcopal church was the scene Sunday, June 19, of the wedding of Miss Martha Josephine (Marjo) Murray to Mark Merle Put nam. The Rev. George R. V. Bolster performed the mar riage ritual at two-thirty o'clock in the afternoon, and the reception following was held in St. Mark's Guild hall. About 200 guests attended. The bride is the older daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth F. Murray, 3734 Crater Lake highway, Medford, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn I. Put nam, Myrtle Point, Ore. The marriage of the bride's parents was also held in St. Mark's church. The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a gown of silk organza and lace over taffeta. The empire style bodice was of organza and re embroidered Alencon lace, with long sleeves of the lace and a scalloped neckline em broidered with seed pearls. An organza rose trimmed the bodice. Draped poufs, held at the top by organza roses, ac cented the gores of the wide hooped skirt. Her short silk illusion veil was held by a cap of Alencon lace embroi dered with pearls and topped with a miniature tiara of pearls and rhinestones. Miss Nyla Murray, honor attendant for her sister, wore Central PointGirl Heads Oregon Theta Central Point -Miss Patty Kime, Central Point, was in stalled as president of the Theta Rho Assembly of Ore gon during the ninth annual Assembly session held June 17-18 at Springfield, Ore. Others installed were Miss Betty Schaer, Coos Bay, vice president; Miss Linda Foster, Grants Pass, warden; Miss Dorothy Weaver, Coquille, secretary; Miss Donna Knaak, Newport, treasurer, A total of 315 members from all parts of the state at tended. Mi Patty Kime Beachcombers Party Held By Sorority Chapter A beachcombers party was held at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Turner June 18. ' The party was given by the ( new members of Gamma Xi chapter, Beta Sigma PIU, in Central Point, honoring the other members and their hus- i bands. 1 An outdoor buffet supper was held on the patio with decorations in a beachcomb ers motif. Those participating were attired in keeping with i the theme. ' Activities included dancing, and badminton. She will also visit her uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Taylor, Mr. ana Mrs. Leo Taylor and Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Taylor, and their familiei. Miss Montgomery will be Joined In August by her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Montgomery. The O. P. Taylors will re turn today after spending a short vacation it Shasta lake. All the attend ants carried puffs of white organza with Cecile Brunner roses and wore wide bows of pink organdy and whimsey veils on their hair. Vicki Linnell, Corte Ma dera, Calif., a cousin of the bride who was flower girl, wore a frock of seafoam green and carried a basket of petals. Barry P i n k 1 e y, Myrtle Point, nephew of the bride groom was ring-bearer. Aco lytes were Carl Vocgtly and Roland Arney. Jack Pinkley, Myrtle Point, was best man for his brother-in-law and ushers were Tom Putnam, cousin of the bride groom, John Godlove, Rose burg, Jerry Pawlowski, Jack sonville, Neil Knudsen, Ash land and Richard Roush, Myr tle Point. Mrs. Ernest Conrad was at the church organ, and Miss Rosemary Doolen sang. The altar bouquets were of pink roses and the reception room had been decorated with a profusion of garaen flowers. Among those representing the grand IOOF lodge of Oregon were Ellsworth Robison, Central Point, deputy grand master. Mrs. Riley Appelgate, Central Point, vice-president of the Rebekah Assembly of Ore gon, also attended. Others attending from Beta Chi chapter. Central Point, were the Misses Mary Elin Burkhart, Sandy Renfrow, Sheryl Marshall, Doris and Nancy Inman, Ann Holgate and Marilyn Dawson, Mrs, John Robison, the advisor, Mrs. Gerald Kime, and Mrs Melvin Frick. The girls par ticipated in the assembly by presenting the response of welcome at the Friday morn ing session. As newly installed presi dent, Miss Kime is making plans for the 1961 Theta Rho Assembly which is to be held in Central Point. For the event the bride's mother wore a gown of silk contemporary print in shades of turquoise with white feath er hat and matching acces sories. The bridegroom's moth er wore a blue lace gown with matching hat of lace, and white accessories. Their cor sages were white orchids. Mr. and Mrs. Putnam are making a wedding trip to southern California. For trav eling they wore matching sports attire of gray flannel and white sweaters. They will live at 1092 Pine street, Cen tral Point, after their return July 1. The bride Is a graduate of Medford High school and Southern Oregon college and is a teacher at Washington school. Mr. Putnam, who at tended Myrtle Point High school, the University of Ore gon and Southern Oregon col lege, is a junior high school teacher for the Central Point school district. Before her wedding, the bride was honored at two showers. The first was given by the faculty of Washington school at the school, and the second by a group of teach ers at Howard school.
