land. Yost won the tourna
ment in 1990 and 19S6.
Bob Atkinson of Portland,
co-medalist in qualifying with
Price at 135, won his match,
going 17 holes to defeat Tom
Hibberd, a Claremont college
student 2 and 1.
Don Kreiger, the defend
ing champion, won his match
with a 5 and 4 decision over
Mack Wiebe of Portland
State.
George Beechler of On
tario, who won the 1955 title,
went an extra hole to defeat
Dick Stearns of Portland.

winning run for the Yanks
