The announcement was made at a lawn party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Kruggel, 3168 Marilee street. The engagement ring was on an American Beauty rose placed across a decorated cake. Games were played and a reading was given by Mr. Kruggel. Richard and Robert Hansen entertained with In strumental music. Twenty four guests attended. Miss Hunter was graduated from Wenatchce High school and attended Northwest Naza rene college, Nampa, Ida. She is employed by Sears Roe buck and company, Medford, Mr. Wells was graduated from West Valley High chool, Spokane, and attended Northwest Nazarene college and Washington State univer sity, He Is employed by the Bureau of Land Management here. Their wedding l.s planned for October 14 in Wenatchce. Betrothal News Is Announced In Eagle Point Eagle Point-Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tresham announce the engagement of their daughter, Beverly Jean, to Roger Brian Hooper, son of Mrs. John Esp, 889 Olympic avenue, Med ford, and V. Ray Hooper, also of Medford. Both Miss Tresham and her fiance are graduates of Eagli Point High school. Mr. Hoop er is a student at Oregon Technical Institute at Klam ath Falls. Miss Tresham will enroll at Southern Oregon college in the fall. She is cur rently employed by Mann Department store. No wedding date has been set. Beverly Tresham Medford Group Honors Officer UN Board Names Two Mr. and Mrs. Henry Padg- ham and Mr, and Mrs. H, P. Bosworth Jr., plan to go to West Linn inn, Oregon City, June 25-26 for the annual summer meeting of the Ore gon United Nations associa tion. Clark Eichelbcrger, execu tive director of the American Association for the United Nations, has been invited to attend. June 25 the Hon. Kenneth Lindsay, former member of the British Parliament, will address the group on "New Europe and the United Na tions." At a dinner Sunday Eugene H. Bird, foreign serv ice officer, will speak on "Foreign service of the USA and United Nations In the field." Mr. Pnclgliam has been nom inated fur a position on the state board of the OUNA, and Mrs. Bosworth has been nom inated for re-election as a board member. Mrs. Gladys Lawther, Pnrtlmid, is chair man of the nominating com mittee. Board members of the Med ford chapter are nceting at the farm home of the Bos worths on the Applegate river this evening. Annual Party At Mon Desir To Be Monday Ashland -The fourth annual "Twelfth Night Revel" for the Oregon Shakespearean Festival company has been scheduled for Monday eve ning, June 20. This years theater group will again be provided with fun and relaxation, as well as a full-course dinner, by Mrs. Julie Tummers, proprietor of Central Point's Mon Desir Dining Inn. The event, always antici pated by Festival members, takes place 12 nights after the company meets for the first time. It furnishes the cast and crews with a welcome time out from a hectic week of au ditions, castings, and block ing rehearsals. Mrs. Tummers has Invited the company and special Tu dor guild guests to the din ner, and the attendance is expected to be more than 100. The buffet dinner is given, ac cording to Mrs. Tummers, to Welcome the Festival com pany and to show her appre ciation for the drama and ex citement they bring to the val ley each summer. Music for dancing is piped Jnto every room over a slreo- i phonic system, Mrs. Betty Fichtner, retir ing president of Medford unit, American Legion auxiliary, was honored at a no-host din ner recently at Kims. She was presented with a gift and she then in turn presented her of ficers and chairmen each with a remembrance. Mrs. Everett Barlow, newly installed president, announced that at the district caucus held June 12 at Grants Pass Mrs. Icel Clayton, Cave Junction, was elected president of Dis trict 13, and Mrs. Fichtner was named vice - president. District 13 is composed of Cave Junction, Grants Pass, Ashland, Central Point and Medford. Final plans were made for those attending the state con vention to be held in Seaside July 7-9. Those attending as delegates from Medford will be Mrs. Barlow, Mrs. Ficht ner, Mrs. Melvin McElhiney and Mrs. Dorothy Sutter. I Min Marjorie Edens Parents Tell Betrothal News Jacksonville-Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edens, Jacksonville, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Marjorie Edens, to Roger L. Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Adams, Portland. Miss Edens has attended Lewis and Clark college for the past two years and is now employed in Portland. Mr. Adams, a recent graduate of Lewis and Clark college plans to do graduate studies in psy chology at Vanderbilt univer sity, Nashville, Tenn. No wedding date has been announced. Installation Held by Club New officers for the year 1980-61 were installed for the Crater Garden club by Mrs. C. W. Anhorn of the Cental Point Garden club at a recent meeting of the club. Don Waldron of Elton's Farm and Garden store dis cussed and showed new items for use in the garden. The potluck dinner meet ing in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Straus, Cen tral Point, was the last meet ing of the season. The next regular meeting of the club will be the first Thursday evening in September at the Lawrence Messal home, Or chard Home drive, Medford. Couple to Wed In Fall Service .Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schup penies, 70S Palm street, an nounce the engagement of their daughter, Carlene Ann, to George Allen Gailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Gai ley, Murtaugh, Idaho. Miss Schuppenies is a grad uate of Medford High school, attended Southern Oregon college and is now attending University of Oregon School of Nursing, at Portland. Mr. Gailey received a bach elor of science degree in Busi ness Administration at the University of Idaho. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Ep silon fraternity. Brown, Merriam road, at 12:30 p.m. for their annual picnic Friday, June 24. Members are to take a pot luck dish and their own table service. The committee will be Mrs. Ben Bolin, Mrs. Ida Pollock, Mrs. Carmen Gigilot ti. They will provide coffee, cream, sugar and rolls. The club will furnish ice cream. Auxiliary To Hold Sessions Crater lake post and auxil iary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will meet Tuesday, June 21 at 8 p.m. at the VFW hall.
