Following the meeting in the park, the visitors were taken on a tour and visit at the domiciliary. Gold Star Mothers are women whose sons and daughters have Jost their lives while serving in wars. Miss Carla Borough Installed Honored Queen of Bethel 14 Miss Carla Borough, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Borough, Myers lane, was in stalled honored queen of Bethel 14, International Or der of Job's Daughters, at a ceremony held Saturday, June 4, In the Medford- Ma sonic tlmple. Others installed were the Misses Barbara Morton, sen ior princess; Diane Evernham, Junior princess; Laura Rupert, ttulde: Pat Ellis, marsnai: Vickl Ingram, recorder; Cin dy Anderson, treasurer; Fat BorouRh, chaplain; DruAn Graft, musician; Louise Hoo ver, librarian; Janet K.eny Linda Nash, Barbara Jacob- son. Cheryl Potucek, and Carol Wood, messengers; Kay Fields, senior custodian; rat Harris, junior custodian; Shar on Mellish, inner guard; Jan ice Tayior, outer guard; Betty Hatch, lady of lights; Susan Elmgren, page; Monte Noble, prompter, Barbara Wood so loist. Bethel choir members are the Misses Holly Forncrook, Ann Hcysell, Sue Higgins, Carolyn Turman, Susan Har ney, Sherron Smets, Linda Fredrick, Clarissa Hogue, Kathy Sanborn, Tcrrl Crov ette, Joun Sexton and Diane Rupert. Clarence Smith is guardian of music. Installing Oitlcers Miss Marion Parsons, retir ing queen, installed the new queen, assisted by the Med ford chapter, Order of De Molay, for the crowning cere mony. Bob Baker was master councilor. Other installing of ficers were the Misses Bernice Skoog, guide; Micke Noble, marshal; Marcia Barrell, re corder; Sylvia Morris, senior custodian; Susan Hubbard Junior custodian, Pat Sclby, musician; Julie Gandt, solo ist; and Mrs. Wayne H Breeze, chaplain. Assisting members of DeMolay were Mike Phillips, Dean Evern ham, Eddie Browncll, Wayne Kelsoc, James Myers, Ted Van Sickle, Roger Kclsoe, Doug Farnsworth, Steve Knight and Willis Williams Miss Borough was escorted and presented the gavel and the queen's line officers intro duced their parents. The new queen's family, Mr. and Mrs. Borough and her sisters Pat and Debora, were escorted and Introduced. They pre sented her a bouquet of yel low rpses. Miss Borough also introduced her aunts ana uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Fraker, Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Porter, and Miss Thelma Tolles. Past Honored Queens Escorted and introduced I were six past honored queens of Bethel 14, the Misses SkooK. Noble, Hubbard, Mor- I ris, Parsons, and Mrs. Breeze, Rupert and Miss Ellis escorted Miss Borough to the east where she remained while a group of 14 girls, accom panied by Miss Selby, sang "The Yellow Rose of 14." Queen Carla was then pre sented with a gift of silver from the bethel. Baskets of yellow roses and snapdragons decorated the hall and the programs were printed froms of yellow roses. Miss Julie Faught was in charge of the guest book and programs. Serving the queen's cake and punch were the Misses Ada Harris, Monte Noble Linda Farmer, Karen Schultz and their mothers. A dance, under the direction of Miss Barbara Morton, followed the reception. The first meeting over which Miss Borough will pre side is scheduled for Wednes day, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Mrs. Jack D. Brummond was installed president of Travel Study club of the Ore gon Federation of Women's clubs, Friday night, June 3, at Kim's banquet room. Mrs. Clay M. Lee retiring president and First District president, was the installing officer. The insignia of the General Fed eration of Women's clubs was the theme of the installing ceremony. Other officers installed were Mrs. Frank L. Stratum, first vice president; Mrs. Fred Gross, secretary; Mrs. Beryl Lyon, treasurer; and Mrs. Carrie Walters, corresponding secretary. Mrs. Brummond named Mrs. Ray Glidewell, Ashland, international hos tess. Preceding the ceremony a seven o'clock dinner was served. The banquet tables had arrangements of painted daisies in brandy glasses, and tall tapers in pastel shades. Carnation corsages were presented to the incoming of ficers. Mrs. Brummond and Mrs. Lee were presented cymbidium orchid corsages gifts from Mr. and Mrs Charles Hoppe. Members of the club gave the club collect, and Mrs. Norman Wade presented the flag. Mrs. William E. Boone was chairman of arrange ments. Mrs. Lee introduced Mrs. Mrs. Ralph Foster, sec ond vice president of First District and president of Ash land Civic club; Mrs. Boone, treasurer of First District and retiring first vice president of Travel Study club; Mrs. Brummond, corresponding sec retary of First District and retiring corresponding secre- which time plans will be made for the summer picnic. Mrs. Lee thanked the Club members and her retiring of ficers for their cooperation during her two years, and pre sented the club and each of ficer with a gift. Mrs.. Boone "CARE' chair man, gave the report on "Care" for Greece; Mrs. Ed ward C. Root, international hostess, gave a report on In ternational work for the year; and Mrs. Willis T. Fasel re ported on the club's civic pro ject, the Medford Convales cent home. Mrs. Thomas Wil kins from the home spoke briefly also. Mrs. Peterson in troduced the new First Dis trict president, Mrs. Lee, who spoke briefly. The club presented Mrs. Lee with a gift and thanked her for her leadership. Mrs. Brummond was also presented with a gift. The members of the club serenaded Mrs. Brummond with a song written by Mr. Lee to the lyric of "My Little Margie," entitled "Our Presi dent, Margie." Guests of the club were Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Alfred Cas tillo, Mrs. John Poage, Mrs. Nina Chandler, Mrs. Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Lue, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Oppie, Mrs. Clarence Rolls, George Whitmore, Mr. Boone, Mr. Brummond, Mr. Fasel, Mr. Glidewell, Mr. Lee, Mr. Knute Lindgren, Mr. Ottinger, Mr. Root, Mr. Thomas Reid, and Mr. Peterson. A potluck dinner for mem bers of the club and their families will be held June 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Root, 3261 Jacksonville highway. Delegates Announced Mrs. Ivan Lusk and Mrs. O. O. DeBerry have been elected to attend the national Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Detroit, Mich., in August. Alternates are Mrs. Russell Zundell and Mrs. Ben Allison. Delegates attending the de partment convention from the Crater Lake auxiliary will be Mrs. Zundel, district 7 presi dent, and Mrs. DeBerry, aux iliary president. The conven tion will be in Baker June IS to 19. It was voted at the recent meeting to meet only July 9 and Aug. 16 during the sum mer. The July meeting will be a buffet supper served by post members. Members serving at the June 21 meeting will be Mrs. A. R. Bohannan, Mrs. K. A. Christianson, and Mrs. Ira Canfield. HEC to Meet A meeting of Roxy Ann Home Economics club will be held at 8 p.m. June 15 at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Hen dricks, 3585 Roberts road. Mrs. Ruby Garrett will b co-hostess. A large group of officers of various Masonic orders in the area were guests. John Eddy, worship ful master of Medford Blue lodge, Introduced his officers Miss Julie Gandt sang "Legend" by Tschaikovsky, for the altar song, and Dr. D. K. West gave the invoca tion. On behalf of the bethel, Miss Parsons presented the new queen with her bethel pin and traveling tiara. Miss Borough presented the retir ing queen with a crown of flowers as a token of appreci ation from the bethel, a Job ina doll, and past honored queen pin.
