Wil- Schedules June Meeting Saturday The Jen's Fellowship of First Asembly of God, 1108 West Miin St., will hold its June meting on Saturday at the chuKh annex at 7:45 p.m., it was innounced today by the vic chairman, Bernard T. Schultz. A program will be presented followed by re freshments. Sunday at the 11 a.m. wor ship srvice, the Rev. R. E. Cull, pistor, will speak on the subjee, "Ye Shall Receive Power" The Christ Ambassador youth group has arranged a prognm tor bunaay at o:io p.m. Five students in the group who have graduated from high school this month will be honored. The new gradiates are William Ras musstn, Joyce Hensen, Dor othy Horton, Barbara Brophy, and Esther Jacobs. Daniel Smeter, CA president, is in charje of the program. A delegation from First Assembly will attend the mon:hly fellowship meeting of Assembly of God churches In tie Rogue valley to be held at tie Ashland Assembly on Morday, June 13. The Rev. Harry Ayres, Grants Pass, wil! speak at the 2:30 p.m. service and will show colored slides of his recent Central America tour. The Musical Vanns, evangelistic duo, will have charge of the 7:30 p.m. service. The Toledo, Ohio, evsngelists have recently com pleted an evangelistic cam paign at Grants Pass. NazarenesAnnounce Bible School Theme "Traveling For Jesus" will be the theme of the Vacation Bible school to be held June 13 through 24 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 520 North Holly st. Sessions will be held 9 to 11:45 a.m. Mon day through Friday. Mrs. A. M. Miller is supervisor of the Bible school with departments for children from four years through 14. The school will include study of the Bible, memoriza tion of the Bible and a craft program. All children of the community are invited to at tend. Two Sunday school buses will run their regular Sunday routes to pick up children who need transportation. Any needing transportation may call the church office, SPring 3-6261. CHURCH PICNIC Ashland - Grace Lutheran church. Frances lane, Ash land, will hold their annual congregational picnic Sunday at Jackson Hot Springs. Es pecially invited are the par ents and children of the Vaca tion Bible school which will have completed one week of the school and have one more week to go. The noon meal will be potluck and each family is to take about as much food as their family would eat. Coffee and soft drinks will be furnished by the Ladies guild. Services have been held since May 22 at Lincoln school gymnasium, according to Raymond, member of the Guidance committee of the church. The independent church, a Conservative Bap tist, is under the sponsorship of First Baptist church. Speakers at the 11 a.m. wor ship services have been Wil cox and Raymond, It was re ported. Raymond will speak June 12. Other meetings cur rently being held by the group are youth meetings at 7 p.m. Sunday and an evening worship service, called the Family Bible hour, which meets in homes of the various members. Thursday week day meetings are held at homes at 7:30 p.m. For information regarding the meeting loca tion contact Nordquist at SPring 2-6012. Plans Told Sunday school plans are currently underway, it was reported, and as soon as they have been formulated, will be announced. Raymond explained that the church felt that Medford had reached the size where there is a need for additional Conservative Baptist work in the area. The church promotes Christian teaching, evangel ism and fellowship and en courages the participation by laymen in the service to strengthen the family within tne church It was reported that be tween 110 and 125 persons have been attending the serv ices Summer Activities Told for Church At the Congrega t i o n a 1 church Sunday the Rev Thomas McCamant will preach a sermon on the ques tion: "Is Christianity an Op timistic Religion?" The church service is at 10 a.m., with church school at the same hour. Registration is being taken for the vacation school to be held jointly with the West minster Presbyterian church, June 20 through July 1, Those eligible are children four years old and through the sixth grade. Dates have recently been set for two other summer ac- tivities. An ice cream social will be held July 27 and the Crater Lake vesper service on Aug. 21. The Laymen's Breakfast will be held Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. with Mark Smith as leader. During the 11 a.m worship service three-year-olds graduating from the Cra dle Roll department will have a promotion ceremony, wear ing pink and blue caps and gowns. Pastor Clynton Cris- man will give the messages for both the 9:45 and 11 a.m. worship services. Mrs. Ken neth Boshears will be soloist. "Marriage," a film featur ing evangelist Billy Graham, with Cliff Barrows and songs by George Beverly Shea, will be shown at the 7:30 p.m. service. WeeJcy-Hert Weekend prelude - to - sumer issue: Catholics Plan Religion Vacation School Monday The annual summer ses sion of Religious Vacation school for Catholic children attending public schools will begin Monday morning at St. Mary's school. Classes will be held for two consecutive weeks, Monday through Friday, ending on June 24. First Holy Commun ion for children who have attended the regular Saturday catechism classes and the summer school is scheduled for Sunday, June 26. Each daily session will last from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Sister Mary Josephina and Sister Mary Philomena are in charge of this year's vaca tion school. They will be as sisted by Hugh Friel, chair man, and Mrs. Don Miller, chairman-elect of the Confra ternity of Christian Doctrine lay teacher program. Members of the St. Mary High school Sodality who have assisted the lay teachers throughout the year on Satur days, will continue to hear prayers, supervise play ses sions and help in other ways during vacation school. It is hoped that as many parents as possible will make their own arrangements for their children's transportation to and from the classes. John E. Simon for Sunday's Trinity festival serv ices at St. Peter's Lutheran church, East Main st. and Vancouver ave. The services begin at 8:15 and 11 a.m. The 11 o'clock service will include the celebration of the Lord's Supper, fiunday school for all age-groups begins at 9:30 a.m. St. Peter's Vacation Bible school will open Monday at 9 a.m. Boys and girls from four years up are welcome, This year's course of study is entitled, "God's Children Pray," and is based upon the Lord's Prayer. Theme Announced For Bible School "Pioneering With Christ" will be the theme of this years Bible school at the Ad vent Christian church locat ed at West Jackson and Welch sts. Classes will be held for all ages from three to 13. A nursery will be pro vided for the children under three. Activities will include Bible stories, crafts, mission ary stories, and games. The Bible school will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., June 13 to 17 and June 20 to 24.
