The accident occurred in the Gates area, 56 miles east of Salem. A search with grap pling hooks failed to locate Allen late Tuesday and a Marion county skindiver was dispatched to the area this morning. Officers said he was fashing with two young nephews, Dick Allen, 17, of Bountiful, Utah, and Dennis Allen, 13, Salem. The boys said their uncle slipped on rocks and tumbled into the fast water. Allen, wearing hip boots, struggled to reach shore but went down in deep water.
