Holy communion will h served Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Kindergarten Ends Fifth Year May 27 The St. Peter's Lutheran church kindergarten closed its fifth year May 27. Mrs. Emil Tarns, instructor, had 24 pu pils this year, it was reported. and will teach the school again this fall. The school, which lasts for ZVi months during the morn ing hours, gives preferenJe to children of the church, al though other children may enroll it there is room, it was stressed. A monthly charge is made and some children have al ready been enrolled for the fall term. Ernest Mallams, chairman of tie St. Peter's board of Christiaa education, serves as registrar and the Rev. John Simon, pastor of the church, serves as advisor. Congregationalism Tell Sunday Events The sermon by the Rev. Thomas McCamant at the Congregational church Sun day will be on "Desiring God." Morning worship and the church school are both at 10 a.m. . The church school picnic Which was postponed two weeks ago because of bad weather, will be held Sunday immediately after church if weather permits. All are in vited. Each family is to take lunch for themselves and des sert to share. Coffee and punch will be furnished. Pastor to Assume Duties This Sunday Phoenix - The Rev. Walter C. Morris will assume duties as pastor of Phoenix Church of the Nazarene Sunday. His topic will be "Pentecost and Afterward" for the 11 a.m. service. At the 7:30 p.m. serv ice he will speak on "God Is Real." Mr. Morris has spent the past two summers as asso ciate pastor at the First Church of the NazaPene in Medford. Mrs. Morris, an ordained elder, will be co-pastor with Mr, Morris at the church. 2ION LUTHERAN "Pentecost" will be the ser mon Sunday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran church, by the pastor, the Rev. H. C. Ftllowihip supper Grange News At a May meeting ot the Jackson County Grange Fes tival committees at Gold Hill some of the more definite plans and arrangements were marie for the event July 30. A barbecue diner is plan ned. With Victor Croxton pre siding, the members voted that judges for the Grange skits will be chosen from Grangers attending from out side the county and that casts putting on the competi tive shows must consist of Grangers and their families. Another pleasant feature of the entertainment will be the tableau by the state and Jackson County chaplains. Games and contests will be conducted throughout the day, and music is arranged for by the committee. All Grangers and friends are advised that ticket sales are being stepped up with a time limit to be announced later. Three more meetings of the committees are scheduled, the next at rtoxy Ann June 8 at 8 p.m. Wgmen are asked to bring sandwiches. Georgia-Pacific ' To Enter Box Field Portland - (UPD - Georgia Pacific Paper Company dis closed plans Thursday to entfl the corrugated box manufac turing field in the Pacific Northwest. 0 The company is a sxibsidiary of Georgia - Pacific Corpora tion, one of the nation's larg est producers of forest prod ucts. Paper company President Robert E. Flowers said ex tensive surveys are now being made to determine a suitable Northwest site for the new plant. Market surveys are also being made. WATCHTOWER TOPIC "Achieving Happiness In the Family Circle" will be the topic of the public talk Sunday at 6 p.m. at the King dom Hall of Jehovah's Wit nesses. 2402 Jacksonville high way. San Francisco recorded an all-time high for June 2 when the thermometer hit 95, two degrees above the old record set in 1912.
