Nicholson, Medford, Ore., was found innocent her recently by a Shasta county mperlor court jury of lult concern ing a March 29, 1959, head on collision in Dunsmuir. N'icholson, 37, is a truck op erator for the Oregon-Nevada-California fast freight lines. Killed in the California ac cident were Eugene C. Bowd ish, Lakehead, and Amanda Pritchard. Also Involved were Mr. and Mrs. John Lane, own era of the car. The jury found 10-2 in fa vor of the. freight line and Nicholson, while other coun-i ter-suits were cleared out of court. The accident occured early in the morning when the Lane car travelling against Nichol son on the wrong side of the road, erashed into the ONC j truck. : Suits against ONC, Nlchol-! on, and Lane totaled more ! than $72,000. Mrs. Caroline Lynch of Lakehead, mother of Bowdish, filed suits of $60,975. I SP Freight Volume Matching Last Year Freight traffic volume for Southern Pacific railroad is generally matching last year's levels, according to D. J. Rus ell, railroad president, who made his report at the com pany's annual meeting at Wil mington, Del., recently. Long range prospects, he reported, remain good, in line with the continuing industrial and population growth in the 1 1 states served by Southern Pacific and its affiliates. Net income for the first quarter for Southern Pacific, reported earlier, was $19, 152,303, equivalent to 71 cents a share of SP stock, compared to 67 cents a share for the same period a year ago. Russell aaid SP, which last year pioneered the piggy backing of automobiles, will expand its shipping services to include transportation of missiles by rail. ' BANS MUSTACHES North Pelham, N.Y.
