Stiler, In part described the tmosphcre of the group of friends and relatives fathered recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Foster, 139 Portland avenue. Mrs. Seller was one of the guests helping to celebrate Mrs. Foster's 80th birthday, and the friendly at mosphere brought the poem to mind for Mrs. Seller. She re marked that although the au thor was unknown to her, he had aptly put into words the feeling of the group. Mrs. Foster was born in Klamath County in 1880 and came to Trail in 1896, making her home in the Rogue River Valley since that time. Her family has a background of pi oneer founders in Klamath County. Nancy Ellen Hall and Simpson Wilson, her parents, were the first white couple to be married in Linkville, which is now Klamath Falls. The grave of her maternal great grandfather, Ichabud Hall, was honored with a marker by the Klamath Coun ty Historical society, as an early pioneer settler, who, ac cording to legend, lived to be over a hundred years old. Mrs. George McDonald, aunt of Mrs. Foster, assisted in ground breaking ceremonies for the first railroad to goj through Klamath Falls. She was chosen because she had been a resident in Klamath county longer than any other white woman at that time. A potluck dinner was shar ed, as was a birthday cake which was baked by Mrs, W, I. Hamel of Eagle Point. Among relatives and friends attending from out of town were: Thomas J. Wilson and Ambra Blayden from Rogue River, Mrs. Christina Davis, Salem, A. C. Olson, Portland, and Mrs. George Balke, Daly City, Calif. Other guests included Mr. and Mri. D. D. Hull, Mrs. J. J. McHugh, Mr. and Mrs. Holly Swingle, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh H. Hulbert, Mrs. Vicey Caster, Mrs. Marshall Caster and children, Beth and Mark, Mr. and Mri. Marshall Minter, George Minter, John Minter, Mrs. A. M. Davis, W. E. Ham el, Mrs. Foster's daughter, Mrs. Erma Hulse and chil dren, Byron, Caroline and Joyce, Mrs. Merle E. McGraw and daughters, Lana and Wendy. Unable to attend were Mrs. Foster's son and family, Mr, and Mrs. Sanford Richardson and children. Reames Chapter Plans Ceremony A memorial services and election of officers are slated for a stated meeting of Ream es chapter, Order of the East ern Star, Thursday, May 26, at the Medford Masonic tem ple. Mrs. Audrey Roberts, wor thy matron, and Carl Oes treich, worthy patron, will preside. Following the meeting re freshments will be served in the dining room. All Eastern Star members are invited to attend. Auxiliary Plans Dtnnar Mealing The ladies auxiliary of Siskiyou canton. Patriarchs Militant, will meet in the IOOF temple at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25. A cov ered dish dinner will precede a business meeting scheduled for 8 p.m. .c-v'vv;. Mrs. John M. She has lived in this county sine that time. Club Will Tour Dahack Gardens Members of Howard Gar den club will tour the Dahack Gardens near Tiller, Tuesday, May 24.
