o o O o O Trail Riders Plan Ride for Sunday Medford Trail Riders will hold a ride Sunday, May 22, from the intersection of Lone Pine rd. and Foothills rd. at 9 a.m. to Roxy Ann park where a Wrangler's breakfast will be served. The public is invited to join the group. A regular meeting of the Riders was held Saturday eve ning at the Willow Springs schoolhouse. Theta Delta Phi Holds Initiation Ashland - Initiation cere monies for 20 members of Theta Delta Phi, Men's Scho lastic honorary at Southern Oregon college, were held re cently at the estate of Col. Fred Green on the Rogue river. Included in the activities were a cruise on the river and a picnic dinner as well as the initiation ceremonies conduct ed with the help of Dr. Arthur' Taylor and Dr. Elliott B. Mc cracken, SOC faculty mem bers. Requirements for entrance are a 3.5 for one term or a 3.0 for two consecutive terms while carrying 15 credit hours. The forest service appraised and advertised price was $151, 426.50. Biden said he doesn't plan to log the' timber until next I winter. He considers the area many fine . Ross Lumber company of Medford, with mills at White City and Prospect, was award ed the Prospect Flat Select 2 sale. The total bid on the 3,800,000 board feet was $223,800, compared to the for est service appraisal of $138, 215.00. Second place bidder for the sale was the McGrew Brothers Lumber company. Other bid ders were Austin King, Dou ble Dee Lumber company, Medford Corporation, Timber Products, Lie, Kogap Manu facturing company and Steve Wilson. McDonald To Face Oregon City Trial Oregon City -(UPD- Levi S. McDonald goes on trial here June 20 on a charge of caus ing injury to property by ex plosives in connection with dynamiting of six newspaper trucks here Jan. 31. Trial date was set Monday by Judge P. K. Hammond. Last week McDonald was convicted on a similar charge in Portland in connection in Portland in connection con nection with dynamiting of four trucks there. He was sen tenced to 10 years in prison but is free on bond pending appeal.
