Washington knocked over Oregon 4-2 in the first game of a doubleheadcr Tuesday and then was awarded a 9-0 decision in the second game by plate umpire Stan Nacca rato. Oregon was the only team with a mathematical chance of catching the Cougars. Washington led 2-0 in the fourth inning of the nightcap. Coach Don Kirsch of Oregon took exception to a third called strike on Dave Moore. Naccarato said he warned Kirsch to leave the field or he : would forfeit the game and that when Kirsch persisted in staying around he had no : choice. A few minutes after the forfeit a downpour of rain hit : the field. Washingon won the first game with a two-run rally in - the fifth inning.
