season Friday night and the
San Francisco Giants pounced
on Vernon Law for three
home runs while drubbing the
Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1.
Jones rationed Pittsburgh
to singles by Rocky Nelson
and Bob Skinner then gave up
a bases -empty home run to
Roberto Clemente in the sev
enth Inning which spoiled
Jones' hopes for a shutout.

Raider oval Friday that saw
three SOC records broken.
Aslander Stu Baker again
led the way for the Raiders
with a double win. He ran
the lUO-yard dash, where he
tied his own school record of
-.10 flat, won the 220 and ran
a leg of the record breaking
mile relay.
Howard H a r t m a n was
another double winner for the
Raiders with verdicts in the
high and low hurdles. Hart
man also got a share of anoth
er first. He tied with team
mate Mike Maki in the high
jimp at 5 feet 8 inches. Maki
also got a first in the broad
jtimp with a leap of 19 feet
7 Vi inches.
Len Dobry took two events
and set .a record in the shot
put.. He put the shot 46 feet
52 inches, and threw the dis
cus 130-8.

field championship and set
two new records doing it.
A total of four records were
set during the meeting held
for the first time at BYU
stadium before about 2,300
fans.
BYU got a total of 66 13
team points. Second was Utah
State University with 46 13
point, followed by Idaho State
college with 25 13 and Uni
versity of Utah with 20.
The Provo team set records
in the mile relay and in the
440 yard run. Then ew mile
relay record of 3:18.4 better-

day included a charge bv a

er that McDonald asked him
to drive two accomplices to
the site of one of the truck
bombings of the struck Port
land newspapers Jan. 31.
Oren Hull, who has not yet
been charged in the case,
said that McDonald had him
drive two men to the Oregon
Film Service location.
Hull said he did not know
what would take place until
a few minutes before the
planting of the dynamite in
four Film Service trucks.
McDonald is charged in
connection with destruction
of property by dynamite.
