M Proper Handling H Of flag Discussed 1 At Jaycee Meeting ; The proper handling of the f : United States flat was diecuss- i ) ed by Lt. Richard Greer ol I ; the National Guard at a meet ing of the Medford Junior Chamber of Commerce Tubs- j day. He said that in many in stances in this area the flag ' has been shown little respect ' in the way it is handled. He i has scheduled a class on care of the flag for May 4 at the Girls Community club. Lt. Greer announced that he hopes to give a similar class for the public soon. Del Landing was elected president of the Jaycees at the meeting. Others elected were John Gustafson, first vice president; Hank Haydal, sec ond vice president; Douglas V. Peters, secretary; and Glen Lusk, treasurer. They will be installed May 10 at the Tally-Ho Dining Inn, with the new district vice president as installing officer. Describe Program Bill Sloan, Grants Pass, state chairman for Spoke, de scribed the Spoke program, which is concerned with serv ice, participation, orientation, knowledge and enthusiasm. It is a national awards program recognizing achievements of active five-year Jaycees. Terry Green, community development chairman, gave a progress report for the com mittee. Lieutenant Greer told the group that company E of the Guard will help with any of the projects the committee designates. Bob Wilson, Eugene, who is a candidate for district 7 vice president, spoke on why he wants the position. Two local delegates, Larry Allen, past president, and Douglas Peters, will attend the state convention May 6 to 8 at Coos Bay.
