O n News King and Queen Are Crowned at School Carnival By VIOLA ROGERS Mail Tribune Corraspandent Tiller-Drew - Highlight of the Daya Creek achool carni val Friday was the crowning of the king and queen. All members of the court were known a month before the carnival except the king and queen and the prince and princess of the senior class who ware chosen by vote at a penny a vote. At 10 p.m. Miss Phyllis Jew- ett was crewned queen by runner-up, Dian Zimmerman, who was senior princess. The king, Richard Tibbets, was crowned by senior prince, Larry Giessler. Others on the court were Juniors Darlene Parks and Jerry Perkins, Sophomores Bonnie Bonney and Richard Bonney, and Freshmen Lana Midkiff and Fred Van Nor man. Winners of carnival door prizes were Jim L. Lewis and Claude Weakly. The carnival is an annual affair to raise money for the student body. Clinic Slated at Hornbrook School Hornbrook -Tha second and last clinic will be held at the elementary achool this Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. Everyone, including pre schoolers and adults, may re ceive polio and other ahota. Eagle Point - The Eagle 1 Point Grange received a ship ment of 1,500 blue spruce trees Thursday which they ordered for residents within the areas of Vilas rd., east of the Crater Lake highway to the timberline above Eagle Point. Service Chairman Charles Hoover said the trees would be given to the residents for beautification of their prop erty and the valley as a whole. One hundred trees are being given to the city of Eagle Point to distribute among the residents or to do with as they see fit. Fifty trees were given to the White City Domiciliary for use in both its cemetery and nursery for later planting. Total of 1.000 Thia brings the total of shade trees given away in tha last two years by the Eagle Point Grange and planted within the area to 0.000, in cluding e half mile of golden weeping willows and populars recently planted in the sub division area to help advance faster the transition of the desert area into an oasis. Hoover reported that there are thousands of trees in bloom within the area at the present time which, when a little larger, will present a colorful view from the air as well as to the residents of the valley and visitors. A couple In Portland saw Mrs. Watson's name on our list ef correspondents and asked her to help locate some old friends, a man and his daughter.
