Gilbert, ohapter president, who was voted, the outstanding chapter member, placed third in the state con test. First place was won by Mrs. Harry Smith of JSeta Pt chapter, Oakland. Mrs. Gil bert and the other outstand ing women of the state were introduced to tha delegation at a Saturday night banquet at the Eugene hotel. She was escorted by her husband through the door of an Ha waiian hut which served as the entrance for each, con testant. Also among the honors ceived by Alpha Lambda wan a third plane award for a summary of the chapter s ac- tivitiea of th? past yvor.
