Troop 48 The Greenbar of Boy Scout Troop 48 held a work campout last week end at the site of the new camp. Cleaning up, clearing out poison oak, plan ning the camp layout, and opening of the camp was started by the boys who camped out from Friday eve ning until Sunday afternoon. This will be a work camp on Marshall hill about 2'i miles from their residence off Brownsboro rd. The location of the campsite offers proper facilities for the boys to gain required experience in sig naling, hiking, outdoor crafts manship, tracking, and cook ing without having to travel several miles away. : This will enable the parents of the boys to drive to the campsite in the evenings as soon as weather permits. Scoutmaster Lester Y. Mar shall said the invitation would be open at all times the boyi are In camp. Plans have been made for the entire Scout Troop to camp out the week end of April 22, 23 and 24, weather permitting, where the boys are expected to build their tower along with some of the clean-up work. All poison oak precautions should be taken until the camp site is cleaned ' Boys attending the outing were Senior Patrol leader Steven Cook, Patrol Leaders Terry Nelson, Arthur Harbi son, and Donald Hanscom; As sistant Patrol Leaders Tony Spears and Larry Harris: . Boys attending said they named the camp sue "Field Mouse Camp." Scoutmaster Marshall stat ed that the boys have plans made to sell covers for the new telephone boklels now being distributed.
