Announce Easter Events
Easter music and message
will be heard at the First
Presbyterian church at three
services, 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m.
The sermon topic, "The
Meaning of the Resurrec
tion," will be presented by the
pastor, Dr. D. Kirkland West.
At the early service the high
school youth choir will sing,
"Lift High the Cross" and the
solo, "Open The Gates of The
Temple" will be sung by John
Lacy.
The chancel choir under
the direction of Lynn Sjolund
will sing two anthems at the
9:30 and 11 services, "Easter
Alleluia" and "How Lovely Is
Thy Dwelling Place."
Mrs. Charles Champlin and
Otis Swisher will be heard in
a duet, "Hosanna." Great
. classics from the masters will
also be featured on the organ
throughout the services by the
two organists, Mrs. R. A. Shel
don and Mrs. Richard Hart.
Easter Sunrise service will
be at Hueners Butte at 6 a.m.
Easter followed by breakfast
at the church at 6:45 a.m.
There will be no regular eve
ning meetings. Instead, the
2-hour film "Martin Luther"
will be shown at 6 p.m. The
public is invited to see this
film.
The membership of the
First Presbyterian church has
been divided into 51 resident
ial groups and will be engaged
for the next four Wednesday
evenings in meetings in neigh
borhood homes for an hour of
fellowship, prayer and Bible
study. The study and discus
sion will center around The
Acts of the Apostles.

sented its program in the Ad

The observance of Easter

church, North Central ave.
at Fifth St., with an early
service at 8:30 a. m. The
ordinance of the Lord's table
will be the central part of this
service.
Regular Sunday school
classes for all ages will begin
at' 9:40 a. m. At the closing
worship of the adult Sunday

"The Value and Proof of
the Resurrection" will be the
subject of the message given
by the Rev. James Neely,
