Auto-Train Collision - A car operated by Joyce Ann Moore, 19, of 158 Renault ave., was struck by a Southern Pacific switch engine Thursday at 9:51 p.m. at the Jackson st. railroad crossing. The engine was only going three miles per hour when the collision occurred and damage to the car was moderate, police said. There were no injuries. Po lice said Joyce Moore appar ently did not see the warning lights nor hear the trains whistle. PUTMAN ' Funeral services for Floyd Thomas Futman, 67, of 2210 Canal St., who died Wednes day, will be held at Conger Morris Funeral Home down town chapel Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Everett H. McGee, of the Church of Christ will officiate. Commit tal will be in the Mountain View cemetery, Ashland. Mr. Pulman was born April 1. 1893, in Garfield, Wash. He was married Jan. 20, 1917, in Brownsville, Ore., to Gen ie Howe, who survives. He had lived in Ashland from 1921 to 1934, then moving to Medford. He was a member of the Medford First Christ ian church. Survivors, besides his wife, include a son, David Putman, Medford; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Jobbins, Sunny vale, Calif.; Mrs. Eunice Mer feld, Corvallis, Ore.; and Mrs. Audrey Smlrl, Eugene; five brothers, James Putman and Ralph Putman, Ashland; Ern est Putman, Brownsville, Ore.; Charles Putman, Klam ath Falls, Ore.;' and Troy Putman, Lebanon, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Lora Allison, Santa Cruz, Calif.; and Mrs. Marie P. Aukland, San Di ego, Calif.; and eight grand children. Casket bearers will Include Clarence Hunter, Robert Ev ans, Henry Van Prooyen, A. J. Kanclier, Douglas Shep herd and Randolph Hugdahl. NEAL TRIPP Frank LeNeal Tripp, 52, of Phoenix, died yesterday while piloting his airplane en route to Happy Camp, Calif. ' . Services will be read by a Christian Scientist at Hill- crest Memorial Chapel on North Phoenix rd. Monday at 3 p.m. Committal will be in Hillcrest Memorial park, with Conger-Morris, funeral direc tors, i n charge of arrange ments. Mr. Tripp was born Feb. 25, 1908, at Junction City, Ore. He came to the Rogue valley in 1936, and since 1942 had owned and operated Tripp Service, heavy equipment parts and service, in Phoenix. He was a member of the Phoe nix Lions club. He was mar ried Jan. 16, 1932, in Rose burg, to Florence Britt, who survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lynn Thomp son, Eagle Point; and Mrs Sally Ebert, Brookings; three sisters, Mrs. E. O. Adams, Red- mond, Ore.; Mrs. Wayne Buck- ner, Terrebonne, Ore.; and Mrs. Charles Heckard, Areata, Calif.: and eight' grandchil dren. MRS. CLARA A. CASE Funeral aervlces for Mrs. Clara Amanda Case, 83, of 1042 Mt. Pitt ave., who died Wednesday, will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel on the North Phoenix rd. Satur day at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Tungate, Medford; three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Lar gent, Wheat Ridge, Colo.; Mrs. Fannie Stewart, F o n t a n a, Calif.; and Mrs. Lennie Cha ney, Grand Junction, Colo.; 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Casket bearers will include Donald (Porkie) Smith, Elga Abbott, Burell Facey, Everett Sizemore, James Cappelio, and Red Cappelio. LEONARD HOPKINS The body ot Leonard Mur ry Hopkins, 56, of route 1, bov 333, Talent, who died Wednesday in a local hospital, was transferred today by Perl Funeral home to Olympia, Wash., for services and Inter ment. Mr. Hopkins was born In Staplehurst, Neb., April 8, 1004, and had been a resident of this area for the past 7 years, and of the state for 12 years. Mr. Hopkins was employed as a janitor at Bear Creek Orchards at the time of his death. Survivors Include his wife, Mebcl Hopkins; one daughter, Linda; five sons, Gerald, Lon nie, Nell, and Darrell Hop kins, all of Talent, Gary Hop kins of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Bctly Goin of Phoenix; two brothers. Alvin and Wal ter Hopkins, both of Washing ton, and his mother, Mrs. Hat tie Hopkins of Washington. LEONORA C. NIVISON Private funeral services for died Wednesday, were con- dueled today at the Chapel in the Trees, in Siskiyou Me morial park. The Rev. Thomas McCamant of the Congrega tional church officiated, Cremation followed in Siski you Crematory. Mrs. Nivison was born Feb. 15, 1893, in Oro Fino, Calif., the daughter of the lute John Franklin and Jeanetle Whip ple. In 1918, in San Francisco, Calif., she was married to Guy Earl Nivison, who preceded her in death in September, 1947. Prior to living in Med ford, she had lived in San Rafael, Calif., and later in Scotts Valley, Calif. Survivors include one sis ter, Mrs. Gertrude Perkins, Medford; two nephews, Mor ton Whipple, Portland, and Donald Whipple, Medford. Interment will be in the family plot in Mt. Tamalpais cemetery in San Rafael, Calif. It is the request of the family that donations be made to the Heart Fund, in care of the postmaster, Medford. Siskiyou Funeral Service directors of Chapel in the Trees were in charge of ar rangements. ANTON OSTRUM Anton R. W. Ostrum, White City, died Thursday. LEWIS ELDON DOANE Funeral services for Lewis Eldon Doane, 41, formerly of Medford, who died in a Port land veterans hospital Thurs day, April 7, will be held Saturday morning, April 9, at the McGinnis and Wilhelm Funeral home, 6637 SE Mil waukie ave., Portland.
