C Sunday, March 20, 1960 10 Airliner Lands With Flat Tire New York -(UPD- An Amer ican Airlines Boeing 707 jet inbound from Los Angeles cir cled Idlewild Airport for 15 minutes Friday after the pilot reported his plane had a flat tire, then landed safely as crash crews stood by. An airlines spokesman not ed the 707 has eight main landing wheels and two smaller ones and said, "She has so many wheels, you couldn't even tell she had a flat after she landed." "But this kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting" (Mat thew 17, 21). Individuals as well as na tions should heed this admon ition concerning prayer, fast ing and then spiritual regen eration. This is particularly true of those who with their denial and materialism pose a threat to the happiness and existence of humanity. The more we depart from that salvation, which is a result of spiritual and moral values, the more we approach the borders of misery and disinte gration. Both knowledge and glory without God result in confu sion. Life without a continu ous preparedness for good is the beginning of the abase ment of our personality. Whenever the covenant be tween man and God ir, betray ed the degeneration of society begins. The natural place of man and his hope is near God, re gardless of any human achievements. For without God, progress, wisdom and love are meaningless. Let us therefore keep these thoughts in our hearts and mind dur ing the Lenten season. Cuban Officials Request Asylum Washington (UPD Two re cently resigned Cuban offici als have asked the United States for asylum, it was learned Friday. The Immigration Service said Lt. CmJr. Miguel Pons and Capt. Angel Saaverda have asked permission to stay in this country indefinitely. Pons was naval attache and Saavedra military and air at tache at the Cuban Embassy here.
