club at its recent meeting.

The name of our club will
be decided at the next meet

day, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. Each
member is supposed to bring
name suggestions.
Our first meeting was held
at E 1 i n Livingston's home.
Mrs. Lloyd Livingston and
Mrs. James Cornutt are co-
leaders.
For the next meeting the
girls are planning potato soup
which will be served for
lunch.

Regular meeting of the Em
pire Builders was called to
order on Monday, Feb. 8, in
the Jackson county court
house auditorium by president
Dave Foote.
It was decided to have a
party March 23 at the court
house auditorium following
the high school basketball
games. Lake Tahoe was sug
gested when plans for our
summer trip were discussed.

into our club. The meeting
was adjourned and refresh
ments and games followed.

pledges. The role was called

ported on the entertainment
given at Mitchell's Sanitarium
for Christmas.
Late enrollment cards were
collected. The club's mascot,
a mechanical kitten knitting,
was . presented. Judy Frink
demonstrated how to wind
yarn. Colleen Franek served
refreshments. The next meet
ing will be held at the Frink's
Feb. 20, at 1:30 p.m.

Richard L. Neuberger said
Saturday the automobile in
dustry should equip all new
car models with a new de
vice that reduces unburned
hydrocarbon in the exhaust.
The Oregon Democrat noted
that manufacturers said the
device wQl be standard equip
ment on all 1961 cars sold in
California and will be offer
ed as optional equipment for
those sold elsewhere.
. "Experts estimate that the
device could be included on a
new car at a cost of less than
one dollar," Neuberger said in
a statement.
Rogue Marine Plans New Building Here

for Rogue Marine just north
of the Rogue Valley State
