A Thursday, Feb. 11, 1960 Plans for Fifth Scout Jamboree Being Made Here Plans to organize a con tingent of 120 Boy Scouts, Explorers, and adult leaders to attend the fifth national jamboree at Colorado Springs, Colo., in July, 1960, were an nounced this week by the Crater Lake Council, Boy Scouts of America. "The national jamboree will provide a wonderful op portunity for 55,000 boys and leaders," George C. Flanagan, council jamboree chairman, said, "to have an unforget table experience in camping, group living, and learning to know and love our nation." "Our jamboree contingent will visit San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City, as well as scenic spots in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado," Flanagan said. Three Troops The three jamboree troops from the Scout council will travel by chartered buses and will be led by Shirrell Doty, N. H. Gladfelter, and Robert D. Church as troop Scout masters. The investigation will be conducted by the Senate anti trust and monopoly subcom mittee headed by Sen. Estes Kefauver (D-Tenn.). Miss Grace M. Stuhr, chief nursing unit, attended the area conference for chief nurs ing service at San Francisco, Calif., Jan. 28 and 29 . Mrs. Myrtle Brown, nurse in the infirmary, has been on a vacation, visiting her son in San Diego, Calif. She will re turn in a few days. While visiting in the east, they entertained at the wedding reception of James Warren Edge of Bay onne, N.J. They also went to Washing ton, D.C., and visited and viewed the Capitol grounds. Before returning to Eagle Point, they visited in Pensa cola, Fla., for a few days. A t Muzzioli's Accordion program last night, the Goeh ring sisters performed on the theater stage with a number "Cruising Down the River" for the members of Camp White. News and Notes From Camp White The three entertainers are considered the pride of Camp White, and give the members a "lift" when they walk on the stage. Donnie Lu, 15, a high school sophomore, has been studying accordion nine years. She plans to make it her ca reer and play professionally. Vonnie Lee, 13, an eighth grader, likes horses, as much as her accordion, she said. She has been playing four years. Connie Rae, 12, is a typical out-door girl, her mother said. She is the youngest of three sisters, and is in the seventh grade, but has been playing her accordion five years. The girls have lived in the valley all their lives, and go to the same school at Eagle Point. Each of them is an out standing 4-H member. All having won championships and first places in sewing. Bonnie 'Lu; Goehring, the oldest, won the grand cham pionship in a DAV talent con test recently. Also the three sisters as a group, have won many honors with their ac cordion playing. Speaking of actors, Glen E. Bachert, now 67, and editor of the Dominews, spent a life time on the legitimate stage, with the exception of a few wonderful still yet! Mother of Six Object of Search Yelm, Wash.-(BPD-Thurston county sheriff's officers today were hoping to find some trace of Mrs. Emelie Mercier, a 42-year-old mother of six who was missing from her blood-stained home near here, Officers, who with the aid of a helicopter combed the Black Hills southeast of here Tuesday searching for the woman, theorized . she may have been slain or kidnaped, Mrs. . .Mercier's disappear ance was reported by four of her children when they re turned home from school Mon day.
