Other top men's marks, with class in parenthese, were Richard Seism 460 (375), Mickely Biles 395 (300), How and McLain 307 (225) and Norman Graham 210 (150). Women's scores included in free style, Benita Spencer 420 (400) and, in instictive, Mary Vallentyne 404 (320), Lee Morton 345 (275), Thea Huffman 311 (225), Vivian Coverly 230 (175) and Marie Lockwood 232 (125). Sue Gifford led interme diate girls with 215. Dan Val lentyne had 402 in interme diate boys' free style while Sheryl McLain .had 69 in jun ior girls and Ricky Spencer 129 in junior boys. There were forty-four shoot ers. The upstairs range was completed just in time for the shoot. Rogue Streams High, Muddy Portland -(UPD-The weekly report on fishing conditions prepared by the state game commission: Southwest: Umpqua was high and outlook is poor; streams in Coquille and Coos river systems and all streams in south Coastal area are near flood stage; all Rogue basin streams-high and muddy. Red Raiders to Play Wolves at Ashland I Ashland It's Dad's Week i end on the Southern Oregon college campus and the Red Raiders will be featured in a last ditch stand for a berth in the NATA basketball playoffs by hosting Oregon College of Education Friday and Satur day evenings. ! The Raiders will seek to re cuperate from a 63-54 setback at the hands of Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls last Tuesday evening. It set them deep in third place and the Owls in better possession of the top spot. The Wolves of OCE and the Raiders met before this sea son in Monmouth where they split two games. OCE won the initial fray and fumbled in the second. Top guns for the Wolves are Dennis Spencer and Ron Jonas, a pair of sharp shoot ing forwards who do most of the scoring along with Ron Boyle, a guard. Harier Strong Top rebound strength comes from 6-8 Alan Harter who plays the center position. Ron Jolma will probably get the call at the other guard. Fred Spiegelberg, who coached the Medford football team to the state A-l cham pionship last year, was named as man of the year in Oregon sports. A crowd of about 600 at tended the banquet which fea tured Jack Hurley, fight pro moter and manager, as fea tured speaker. Other Finalists . Webfoots Spread for Encounters Eugene -(UPD- University of Oregon runners will put in their busiest week end of the indoor track season Friday and Saturday when seven will enter three separate meets from New York to Los Ange les. Heading the contingent will be miler Dyrol Burleson whose most recent race was at the Los Angeles Invitation al where he won the mile in a time of 4:06. It was his first try on the indoor board track. Burleson will be entered in the New York A. C. games at Madison Square Garden Satur day along with freshman Vic Reeve. In Philadelphia Friday night milers Dick Miller and George Larson will compete in the Inquirer games. At Los Angeles Saturday night graduate studi-nts Bill Dellinger and Jim Grelle will compete in the Times Invita tional meet. Roscoe Cook, Oregon co-holder of the 9.3 world record for the 100, will run the 60-yard dash in the meet. League Play Ending for B Schools Jackson County B league schools complete their regu lar basketball schedules on Friday evening. St. Mary's will play at Butte Falls and Talent at Prospect. Regular league champion ship already has been claim ed by St. Mary's. The Cru saders at Butte Falls will try to wind up their nine-game loop campaign undefeated. A county tournament next week will determine who plays the Klamath county vic tor for the District 5B mantle. The tourney will be in the Eagle Pont gym and report edly has been moved up to Wednesday and Thursday nights, Feb. 17 and 18. Anoth er game would be necessary on Feb. 20 if St. Mary's does not win the tourney. St. Mary's is to play a non league game with Eagle Point on Saturday. OCE at the present time is lodged in the cellar after suf fering a loss to Portland State Tuesday night and being in active over last weekend. SOC will go with its newly formed lineup of Dave Gard ner and John Payne at the forwards, G o r d y Carrigan and Brad Flanary at the guards, and Dick (Hughie) Smith at center. The Raider second unit will sport Don Vannice ' and Tom Bernet at the forwards, Dick Lillebo and Dick Puhl at the guards, and Glen Peterson at the center position.
