Monday Collision Vehicles oper ated by Arlie Brood, 415 Ed wards st., and Lee Aden Spen cer, 829 West Second st., col lided Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Biddle rd and Crater Lake highway, ac cording to city police. No citations were issued. Vehicle Damaged-An auto mobile operated by Elizabeth Jenkins Collins, 2224 East Main st., slightly damaged a parked vehicle Tuesday after noon owned by Winston and Virginia Marks, 307 Newtown ave., while parking on Sixth st., according to city police No citations were issued. Garage Fire Minor dam age was reported by city fire men from a blaze at the Rube Nelson garage, 319 East Mc Andrews rd., about 7:40 a.m today. They said that the fire originated from a non-improv ed salamander-type unvented oil heater and extended to cans of oil and grease into a work bench. Firemen said that removal of the illegal heater was ordered. . Driver Cited - Delia Spray Mann, route 3, box 73, Med ford, was cited by city police for failure to yield the right of way to a vehicle on the right following a two car col lision Tuesday morning. Ac cording to police, the Mann vehicle and one operated by Harold Clarence Wiest, 2858 Lapine dr., collided at the in tersection of Third and Front sts. his pickup truck was struck bv another vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence at that address. The other vehicle did not stop, he told police. X-Ray Clinic - The chest x-ray clinic at Sacred Heart hospital, sponsored by the Jackson County Tuberculosis and Health association, will be open Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. Persons wishing a chest x-ray are asked to wear clothing with a minimum of ornamentation to insure a satisfactory film, attendants said. 4,000 Restaurants Prove it Every Day Rear-End Collision A car operated by John Patrick Doyle, 48, of 628 South Ivy St., hit the rear end of a car operated by Helen Riedel Bol ton, 37, of 2156 Woodlawn dr., which had stopped at the intersection of Dakota and Oakdale aves., about 4:55 p.m. Monday, according to city po lice. Doyle was cited for fol lowing too close. There were no injuries and damage was minor, police said. Accident Victims Return to Valley Mrs. Earle Fichtner and her daughter, Cecilia Ann, of 2547 Corona ave., were re turned to the valley last week end following an automobile accident Jan. 30 near Goshen. Also injured in the crash were three other students. The five were en route to Corvallis to attend senior week end at the college. Miss' Fichtner suffered a fractured frontal lobe and numerous facial lacerations and her mother had eight broken ribs and a broken leg. The two were hospitalized in Eugene and were returned here Sunday by Mrs. Betty Fichtner. The other students, two girls and a boy, were not hospitalized and ,. returned to the valley earlier. Frightened Man Stopped by Police Saddle Brook, N.Y.-d'PD-Police found Walter Popcorn, 44, running down a street Tuesday night and stopped the frightened man to ask what had happened. He said he had been paint ing a cage at an animal farm owned by Ringling Bros, cir cus when a leopard reached out and clawed him. He was not hurt seriouslyr Grange News Obituaries WEALTHA P. Florence Ross of the King County Sheriff's office in Seattle holds a little girl with a big problem-she's lost her mother. The baby, Marguerita Cherry, was left with Mrs. Juli Reddick who had to turn the girl over to the sheriff's office when she was unable to continue caring for her. The mother, Mrs. Helen Cherry, had placed the child with Mrs. Reddick until called for. She was last seen Jan. 20. Now the sheriffs office is searching for a lost mother. ONE LOOK TOO MANY St. Petersburg, Fla. -il'PIi- It was "looking at girls" that started the trouble for Aaron Artson. That's what Artson, 29, said he was doing when he made an illegal turn and was picked up by a traffic police man. Police then discovered while checking his records that Artson had accumulated 14 traffic citations since Dec. 5. Artson was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $140.
