Add a clove of garlic, minced fine, a cou ple of tablespoons of olive oil and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Serve on toast rounds either cold or heated for a few minutes in the oven. Add one cup of freshly peel ed and grated Washington ap ples, tart and tangy, to each four cups of a bland, season al vegetable, such as mashed squash, sweet potatoes, ruta bagas, or parsnips, to impart flavor and flair. ' Chapter to Meet At Cranston Home Alpha Rho chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, will meet at the home of Mrs. Lou Cranston, 2233 Siskiyou boule v a r d, Thursday, February 11 at 8:15 p.m. She will be assisted by Mrs. Robert Goodman. The program for the eve ning "Let's Match Wits" will be presented by Mrs. Allen Sterton. The last chapter meeting was held January 28 at the home of Mrs. Robert Hercher, assisted by Mrs. James Tenges- dale. Miss Jean Johnson was I in charge of the program given on the topic, "Express Yourself." Mrs. Tengesdal was selected as chapter princess for the annual Valentine ball to be held February 13 at the Rogue Valley Country club. Fruit Hip I Skillet Supper In two shakes you can make Mix 1 can mushroom soup, Red or golden delicious ap ples are perfectly suited for salad making. Make a special dish by mouding rings of cranberry jelly with Waldorf salad. Top with pink marsh mallows for party look. a tangy milk'n fruit flip to snack with crisp butter cook ies or a he-man sandwich. Mix sweet cherry or berry preserves with rich milk in an electric blender, mixer or with a hand beater. Add sliced fresh dates to Waldorf salad or cole slaw dressed with sour cream. Good, too, combined with cream cheese and a touch of grated orange rind, then spooned into peach or pear halves. 1 cup skim milk and V4 tea spoon salt in a skillet and heat over a medium flame. Add Hi cups cooked pack aged precooked rice, 1 can (6V2) ounces of crab meat and a package of frozen peas. Stir well. Then top with 4 slices of process American cheese and bring to a boil. Turn out the gas flame, cover the skil let and let stand for 10 min utes. Serve with a crisp green salad, hard rolls and a lus cious apple dessert. Beauty Operators To Observe Week Medford beauty operators gists will emphasize the spe and salon owners will join cial services which they pro with others throughout the nation in the annual celebra tion of National Beauty salon week, February 7-13. The an nual event is sponsored by the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologists association of which Florian W. Harvat, Fond du Lac, Wise, is presi dent. The week this year is dedi cated to "more beautiful wo men." During the week the salon owners and cosmetolo- vide to women and to the communities. Since the week coincides with the annual Heart month, Mrs. Lorraine Miller, chair man of the Beauty Salon week for Medford, states that the group's observance will be aimed at support of the Heart campaign.
