following their wedding at
the Four Square church in
Ashland.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Adams,
662 B street, Ashland, and
the bridegroom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Don Johnson,
Medferd.
Their marriage took place
December 11 in the chapel of
the Four Square church, Ash
land. Mrs. L- E. McClaflin of
ficiated. Miss Lois Earlene Adams
attended her sister and Ger
ald Kinney was best man.
The bride wore a ballerina
length gown of white lace and
satin and she carried a bou
quet of pink rosebuds center
ed with a white orchid. Her
attendant wore a dress of
multi-colored satin and an or
chid corsage.
A reception for the young
couple was held in Medford
following the ceremony. The
bride attended Ashland high
school and the bridegroom -t-tended
Medford high school.
Birthday Party
Honors Daughter
Linda Simpson, 285 Lozier
lane, was honored January 31
with a surprise party at her
home. She was eight years
old February 2.
Hosts for the event were
her brother, David, and cou
sin, Ray Newman. Her par
ents are Mr. and Mrs. H. A.
Simpson.
Games were played from 2
to 5 o'clock with Shirley
Knapp winning the prize. A
large heart-shaped cake, deco
rated by Mrs. Walter Lewis,
was served.

Miss Purdy's theme was
"Winter Fantasy" done in
blue and white. Those pre
sented at the east were given
small skiers.

es Becky Ferrell, Janet
Hobbs, and Sheryl Ghelardi.
Serving refreshments were
the Misses Judy Patterson,
Lee Hamilton, June Hopkins
and Sue Kelly, assisted by

Luncheon Honors
Medford Woman
Mrs. Vaughn Keyser, Hill-
crest-Phoenix road, was hon
ored Saturday, February 6,
at a surprise luncheon at Mon
Desir Dining Inn.
The event was arranged by
co-workers at the Veterans
Administration Domicili a r y,
Camp White, where she has
been assigned since 1950. Mrs.
Keyser is resigning from gov
ernment service after 15
years, bhe first was witn tne
Navy department in Panama.
Mrs. Keyser worked m both
the dietetic service and per
sonnel division at Canp
White, and during that time
has received several awards
for her work in the personnel
division.
At the luncheon her friends
presented Mrs. Keyser with
several large shrubs.

Temple To Hold
Memorial Rites
A memorial service will be
held at a meeting of Zuleima
temple, Daughters of the Nile,
Saturday, February 13, at 1
o'clock, in the Ashland Ma
sonic temple.
The service will honor
members who have died dur
ing this past year.
The Illinois Valley Nile
club, assisted by Mrs. George
Thomas, Mrs. Marcus Woods
and Mrs. Verla Lutz, will
serve tea after the meeting.

Red Cross Motor Corps
Honored at Luncheon
Volunteers in the Red
Cross Motor corps were hon
ored at a luncheon meeting
of the board' of directors of
the Jackson County chapter,
American Red Cross, held
Thursday at the Chapter
house. Sixty members and
guests attended.
Mrs. Fred Rehling is chair
man of motor service, and she
is assisted by two co-chairmen,
Mrs. Herschel Morris
and Mrs. Elmer Ness. Mem
bers of the corps are trained
to "provide safe and efficient
transportation .for Red Cross
and other community pro
grams." -
Mrs. John Day, chairman
of the recognition committee,
made awards appropriate to
their years of service to Mrs.
