Year's eve at the St. Theresa
Catholic church, Palm
Springs, Calif. The Rev. Mi
chael O'Donohoe officiated.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Reilly, Ri-
alto, Calif. Mr. Benson is a

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a short
white gown with lace top and
chiffon skirt, with blue satin
slippers. She wore pearls and
. her elbow length veil was
held by a pearl crown. She
carried a bouquet of gardenias
and white carnations with
blue streamers.
Miss Lynn Gerhart was
maid of honor. She wore a
blue taffeta frock with blue
satin headband which held
her veil and she carried a
bouquet of white carnations
with blue ribbon streamers.
James Phillips served as
best man.
A reception following the
wedding was held at the home
of Mrs. George Micklos.
The newlyweds are making
their home in Palm Springs
following their return from a
wedding trip to Las Vegas,
. Nevada.
The couple was honored by
the bride's parents at a re
ception January 24 in Red
lands, Calif.
The bride is a graduate of
Palm Springs High school
where she was a member of
Sigma Phi Omicron honor so
ciety. Mr. Benson was gradu
ated from M e d f o r d High
school and attended southern
Oregon college where he was
active in vocal music groups
and was affiliated with Tau
Kappa.

ruary 3, at 7:30 p.m., in the
Masonic temple. Medford,
with Queen Marion Parsons
presiding. Officers of the
Junior bethel will assist the
queen.
Clarence Smith, guardian
of music, has called a choir
practice for Monday, Febru
ary 1, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
in the Masonic temple. All
choir members are to attend.
Queen Marion presided
over her first session at the
meeting of the bethel on Jan
uary 20.
The bethel, in cooperation
with Bethel 55, will hold the
dance in the Rogue Valley
Country club on Friday, Feb
ruary 19. Dinner at 8 p.m.
will be followed by dancing
until midnight. This event
will honor the junior past
queens and the present
queens for both bethels.
Projects for the coming
term were announced. The
queen's project will be a food
sale s .' duled for Saturday,
February 13. Junior princess
Barbara Morton will be' in
charge of a rummage sale on
Saturday, March 5, in the
Fehl building. A project to be
handled by the senior prin
cess. Miss Carla Borough,
will be the mother's tea and
style show which is set for
Sunday, April 3.

Sergeant Moore was stationed

Columbian Squire Circle
To Be Instituted Today
A charter class of 17 Col
umbia Squires will be ini
tiated at 11:30 a.m. today in
ceremonies at the Red Cross
building.
Ritualistic pre sentations
will be by the C o lumbian
Squires, Mount Hood Circle
No. 666, Gresham, Oregan,
under the direction of Eu
gene C. Schwerzer, director
of the Knights of Columbus
state youth program.
Preceding the institution of
the local circle of Squires,
the candidates and all Cub
and Boy Scouts of Troop 1,
along with members of
Rogue River council, Knights
of Columbus, and their guests
will assist at Mass and re
ceive communion corporately
m Sacred Heart church.
In attendance at the Mass
will be an honor guard com
posed of local fourth degree
members of the Knights of
Columbus. Hymns will be
sung by seventh and eighth
grade girls of St. Mary's
school.
Judge to Speak

will deliver the main address
at the charter breakfast to
be held at the Rogue Valley
Country club following the
Mass. Also on the program
will be greetings by Mayor
John W. Snider; Thomas W.
Dugan, grand knight of

chief counsellor for the circle,

Although the Columbian
squires program is still in its
infancy in Oregon, the youth
movement has been sponsor
ed by the Knights of Colum
bus in other areas since 1925.
Open to Catholic boys from
13 to 18 years of age, the
organization has the two-fold
objective of assisting these
young men through the years
of adolescence and of de
veloping leadership among
older boys by affording them
frequent opportunities to as

tral Point Friday, January 22.
Mrs. Setness has been a teach
er for 13 years in the primary
department of the church
school. She will leave soon
to make her home in Redding,
Calif. She was presented a
gift from the Faith and Wom
en's Christian service circles.

bride-elect, daughter of Mrs.
Peter Barta and the late Mr.
Barta, was for several years
assistant dean of women at
Southern Oregon college. She
now is assistant principal of
the Palo Alto, Calif., High
school.
Mr. Stanga is the son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Adam Stanga of New Orleans,
La. He is vice principal of the
Sunnyvale, Calif., High school
and is president of the Sunny
vale Kiwanis club.
