Couple Planning
Trip to Europe
Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. (Red)
Cullen of Medford and Palm
Springs, Calif., plan to leave
in February from Palm
Springs for New York City
where they will embark on
March 15 for a trip to Europe.
They will be accompanied
by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brown of
Los Angeles and the two cou
ples will drive with house
trailers to the east coast.
In Europe they will visit
France, Germany, Italy, Swit
zerland and England. They
expect to be there for about
two months.
On their return to this
country the four will tour the
east coast and Canada.
Mr. Cullen was the owner
of tht former Cullen Equip
ment company, and Mr.
Brown is sales manager' for
the Air Stream Trailer com
pany in Los Angeles.
Jackson County Civic Music association members will
hear a concert Monday. February 1, given by the National
Artists Sinfonietla with William Haaker as musical director
and Amparo Iturbi as piano soloist. The program will begin
at 8 p.m. at Medford High school auditorium.

Miss Linda Smith
Miss Linda Smith, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Niles B.
Smith, 8 Richmond avenue,
has been pledged by the Ore
gon State college chapter of
Pi Beta Phi sorority.
Miss Smith is enrolled in
liberal arts.
Her sister, Mrs. Stephen
Foster of Anaheim, Calif., was
also a Pi Beta Phi at OSC.
Although Heart Sunday is a whole month away, the
chairmen are already drafting their plans. Mrs. Ronald
Ricketts, county chairman for the project, met last week
with three of her main co-chairmen. Pictured at her home,

the Craterian theater.

nual children's theater pro

Proceeds from the two per
formances, at 2:30 and 4:15
pan., go to the AAUW fund
for fellowships and grants.
They are given to outstand
ing women who are working
toward doctorate degrees
here or abroad.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. Brat
ton returned to the valley re
cently after a two week wed
ding trip to Carlsbad Caverns
in New Mexico. The couple
were married January 2 in
an evening ceremony at the
home of Elder and Mrs. John
Trade, 1130 West Eighth
street.
The bride is the former
Burnadine M.: Meilicke, Route
4, Box ' 316, Medford. Mr.
Bratton is formerly of Suther
lin, Ore. Elder Harry Sharp
of the Woodland, Wash.,
Seventh-day, Adventist church
officiated at the 8 o'clock
ceremony.
The bride wore a grape
colored suit with grape and
pink accessories. Her corsage
was a white orchid.
Mrs. Leonard Yost attended
her sister. She wore a light
blue knit suit with brown
and white accessories and
white gardenia corsage.
Clifford Fellows, Portland,
served as best man. .
Candlelighters were Terry
Bratton and Danny Meilicke.
White chrysanthemums and
pink stock decorated the home
for the ceremony.
Mrs. Harry Sharp sang, and
accompanied Alvy Bowman
another soloist.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held. Assisting
with the serving were Mrs.
Bowman, Mrs. Trude, Miss
Teri Lynn Meilicke and Miss
Sharie Yost. During the re
ception Mr. Bowman and Mr.
Yost sang.

6.
The party will begin at 8
p.m., and a buffet will be

featured on the menu.

Miss Nylia Cooper, a sister
of the bridegroom, was the
honor attendant, and Mrs.
Frank Root, Ashland, was
bridesmatron.

Robert L. Burgess, Phoenix.
Ushers were Sherwin Cooper
and Frank Root.
The bride was escorted by
her father. Her white gown
was styled with a lace jacket
trimmed with satin and skirt
of tiered chiffon over taffeta
Her heart shaped bouquet was
of carnations, roses and for
get-me-nots.
The attendants' gowns were
pink and they carried bou
quets of white carnations and
pink net.
The church was decorated
with white and pink chrysan
themums and carnations.
' Mrs. Alma Bohnet, aunt of
the bride gave a reception for
the couple in the Pioneer
room in the Jackson hotel.
Mrs. Robert Burgess cut the
wedding cake, while Mrs.
Bohnet poured punch and
Mrs. Millie Ritchson served
the coffee.
The bride is employed as
a waitress at the Medford
Bowling lanes and the bride
groom is employed at Mike's
Seat Cover and Upholstery
firm. They are living at 7281fe
