In her job of testing Shaef fer Pen company's fountain pens, ballpoints and mechani cal pencils the marathon writ er pours the words onto paper, then reports on the effects of her testing. "Although the firm has banks of writing machines that turn out millions of slants and ovals monthly" she explained, "only human hand writing can provide full infor mation. "I look for the effects of hand temperature changes, sudden reversals, different hand pressures and inconsist ent motion that pencils and pens meet in consumer use." Though she's penned enough words to make more than 30 copies of "Gone With the Wind," Miss Williams has no inclination to become an author. Her hobby? Letter writing to friends and relatives. Wall Street Chatter New York - (UPD - There are indications aplenty that divi dend actions in 1960 will again be predominantly on the favorable side, reports Standard & Poor's Corp. The big investment and ad visory organization points out that 1,186 companies in creased their payments last year and 238 resumed divi dens, against only 610 and 176 in recession-ridden 1958. At the same time, the num ber of casualties dropped sharply, the statistical agency notes. "Only 98 corporations reduced payments against 436 in 1958, while the number of omissions fell to 117 from 302. Extras rose to 1,419 from 1,231."
