Westminster
The sacrament of the Lord's
Supper will be administered

service of the Westminster
Presbyterian church.
The sermon for the com
munion meditation and the
opening of the year will be
preached by the Rev. John O.
Reynolds, and will be entitled
"Good News for 1960."
During the service there
will be a public reception of
the new members who have
joined the church since the
close of the charter member
ship last June. Miss Mira
Frohnamayer will sing "The
Twenty-Third Psalm."

ages from nursery through

Central Church
Starts Quarter
The Central Church of
Christ, 608 North Central ave.,
will meet for worship at 11
a.m. Sunday. . The minister,
John V. Heberling, will ad
dress the congregation on the
subject, "Shepherding the
Church."
The Bible school will begin
a new quarter at Sunday's
9:45 a.m. session. Teachers for
all age groups will introduce
the new materials that will
be studied for the next 13
weeks. Adult and youth classes
will study the lesson "Launch
ing Out On a World Mission"
from Acts 13.
The 6:30 p.m. youth meet
ing will again be devoted to
the panel discussion of stand
ards for teen-agers. The same
adults will make up the panel
and will continue answering
the questions prepared by the
young people. Adult visitors
are welcome to attend.

Quiet Holiday

dent Eisenhower spent a quiet
New Year holiday today at
his vacation retreat here rest
ing before the 1960 session of
Congress.
The President and Mrs. Ei
senhower greeted the arrival
of the New Year and the new
decade early today at a pri
vate party with friends in the
clubhouse at the Augusta Na
tional Gold club.
The Eisenhowers are ex
pected to return to Washing
ton during the week end or
early next week to be back
in the White House before
Congress reconvenes next
Wednesday.

part of a large group caroling
the many homes in the com
munity. Monday night they

Falls church recently were

dren, who is on furlough from

Collins who is planning to go

On Survey Trip
"That Shocking Demand of
Christ" will be the sermon
subject of the Rev. Kenneth
Raymond Sunday at the 11

Baptist church. The Rev. Mr.
Raymond, who serves as choir
director and a Bible teacher
at the church, will speak in
the absence of the pastor, the
Rev. James Neely.
Pastor Neely is on a survey
trip of missionary stations of
the Conservative Baptist
Home Mission Society in Cen
tral America. He will stop at
various points in Cuba, Haiti,
Honduras, Panama and Mex
ico. During the second week
of January the board of the
mission, of which he is a
member, will meet in Mexico
City. The local pastor will
return to the pulpit of his
church Jan. 17.
