Kramer was placed in solitary confinement in the Eureka, Calif., jail on charges of inhu man punishment of a child. - (UPI Telephoto) EAGLE POINT Group Sells Decorations By DOTTIE HARBISON Eagle Point - Christmas trees (Shasta or silver tip), wreathes, center pieces, door swags, plastic marble bags, mistletoe, laurel berries, and other Christmas decorations are now being sold on .the Crater Lake highway in front of the Eagle Point Refriger ation shop. The booth will be opened afternoons, all day Sat urday, and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. All proceeds will be donated to the Boy Scouting program of Pack and Troop 48, Eagle Point. The new Community Scout building has at last had the foundation forms built and is ready for the pouring of ce ment as soon as weather per mits its setting, according to chairman, Harry Hanscom. Once started, the construction should progress rapidly. The- Antelope Social club will meet at the home of Mrs. Edwin Hayes on Bigham rd., Dec. 16, starting with a din ner at noon. This is the an nual Christmas dinner and party and all husbands are invited. Gifts will be ex. changed and a drawing- for new Pollyanas will take place. Mrs. Marie Hayes, Mrs. Robert Bitterling, Mrs. Fred Canterbury and Mrs. Elbert Bigham are co-hostesses for the dinner. New officers elected at the last meeting were Mrs. Bill Bigham, president; Mrs. Will ford Davies, vice president; Mrs. Fred Canterbury, secre tary; Mrs. Donald Anderson, treasurer, and Mrs. Robert Bitterling, Rosemary chair man. . The eighth grade class of the Eagle Point Community Bible church was the winner class-wise, ih its church in the contest recently held among the community churches to gain the most new members. Class members were honored at n taffy pull given by their teacher, Mrs. Ray Chamber lain, at her home on Browns boro rd. Dec. 8. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Ayres assisted with the taffy pull and the young sters played several games while waiting for the taffy. Eighth graders attending were Judy Hill, Judy Calarno, Richard Wilson, George Land er, Bill Ayres, Paul Pollock, Pamella Stevens, Danny Bur rill, . Marsha Pulley, Donna Geren, Cheryl Hanscom, Bar bara Wilson, Nancy Walton, Ellen Hay, Lola Ackerman, Gary Webster, and Viola Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pulley prepared a dinner in honor of the eight hgrade class last Thursday at their home. They were assisted 'in serving by Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hay. Mrs. Ray Chamberlain fur nished the ingredients for banana splits and the young sters made their own desserts. Nineteen members were present The Eagle Point district Classroom Teachers associa tion will holds its annual teachers banquet at the Rogue Valley Country club Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. with teachers and their husbands or wives from Shady Cove, Elk -Trail, and Eagle Point all being invited. Turkey will be the featured dish. Applications Being Taken for Courses Applications for auto me chanics and electronics courses are being taken at the adult education office at Med ford High school, Lindsay M. Vinsel, director of adult edu cation in the Medford school system, has announced. The courses will be held over a two-year period and will meet from 3:30 pjn. to 10:30 p.m. daily The auto mechanics course Is designed to prepare persons for em ployment in the automotlvt industry. The electronica course is designed to prepare persons as highly trained technicians in the electrenigs industry, Vinsel 6aid. - Applications may be made at the high school between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Hi spring term will start Feb. 13.
