An event of November 27
was the wedding oMiss Caro
lyn Rae Fichtner and Dick L.
Chamberlain at First Metho
dist church at 8 o'clock in the
evening. Dr. George G. Rose
berry officiated at the double
ring rites attended by 270
relatives and friends.
The bride is a daughter of
Mrs. Betty Fichtner, 227
North Oakdale avenue, and
Clyde Fichtner, 331 West
Second street. Mr. Chamber
lain's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Chamberlain,
Brownsboro road, Eagle Point.
The newlyweds are making
their home on Brownsboro
road following their return
from a wedding trip to San
Francisco and Los Angeles.
The bride wore a floor
length white gown fashioned
with fitted lace bodice with
long sleeves. The bouffant
skirt was of tiers of pleated
tulle on bands of lace and
formed a train. Her fingertip
length veil was held by a
pearl crown and she carried
a bouquet of stephanotis and
white carnations encircling a
white orchid. Mr. Fichtner
gave his daughter in mar
riage. Mrs. Walter W. Collins was
matron of honor for her sis
ter. Other attendants were
Mrs.-Richard Vance and Miss
Rita Rose. Their dresses were
pink nylon chiffon with
matching lace boleroes. They
carried bouquets of lime col
ored spider chrysanthemums.
Little Diane Ringel, Van
couver, 1 Wash., was flower
girl for her cousin. She wore
a white lace frock over pnik.
Dolf C. Larson served, as
best man and seating the
guests were Gordon Casey
and John Austin. Bobbie Col
lins, nephew of the bride, was
ring bearer. Candlelighters
were Gary Fichtner, brother
of the bride, and Gary Smith,
nephew of the bridegroom.

orated the church for the
ceremony. Mrs. Lester Board
man played the organ wed
ding music and accompanied
Mrs. ' Gregory MacDougall,
soloist.
For her daughter's wedding
and reception "which follow
ed at the church Mrs. Ficht
ner wore a beige satin dress
with accessories of dusty pink.
Mrs. Chamberlain chose a
royal blue frock with match
ing accessories.
For the reception Mrs. Rob
ert Cunningham, Corvallis,
and Miss Janet Carter, also
Corvallis, cut and served the
wedding cake. Mrs. Gene
Chamberlain, sister-in-law of
the bridegroom, presided at
the punch bowl and Mrs.
George Spaunhurst poured
the coffee. Miss Cecelia Ficht
ner, cousin of the bride, was
in charge of the guest book
and John Fichtner passed the
rice. ,
For her traveling attire the
bride wore a blue suit with
white feathered hat and black
accessories.
The bride attended Medford
High school and Robertson's
School of Business. She is a
stenographer for the Califor
nia Oregon Power company.
Mr. Chamberlain attended
Eagle Point High school and

Calendar " .
December week ends are
the most popular time for
holiday parties, and a number
are on the calendar this week
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen G.
Nye will be hosts today for
the first of two seasonal open
house events. The Nyes have
invited a group of friends to
their new home situated in
their orchard off the Phoenix
Hillcrest road southeast of
Medford. Located on a small
hill, the home commands a
fine view of the valley to the
south and the Siskiyou moun
tain range.
Second of the parties, will
be held December 20.
Dr. and Mrs. Dwight Find
ley gave a dinner at their
home on the Old Stage road
last night. Among the guests
were Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Blanchard, who recently came
to Grants Pass from Chicago
to make their home. Mr.
Blanchard, an attorney, lived
in Grants Pass as a young
man and after going to Chi
cago was with the firm, of
Armour brothers for a num
ber of years.
Units of the various armed
forces in southern Oregon
gave the annual Military Ball
at Rogue Valley Country club
Saturday, December 5. About
75 couples attended. t
Before the party Lt. Col.
and Mrs. John G. Crawford
gave a cocktail party at their
home on East Main street. Ten
couples were guests.
Last night Mrs. C. Rease
Braley gave a cocktail and
supper party for a few friends.
It was held at the Colony club.
