"Winston, Southern Oregon . college registrar and dean of .women, presented two addess es during the recent Siskiyou County Conference of Cali fornia Education : clubs in Dunsmuir. After her address, "About -Ourselves Past, Present, and Future," at the luncheon meet- : ing of the Delta Kappa Gam ma, an educator's society ac tive in the sponsoring of Fu ture Teachers of America clubs, Mrs. Winston gave the 'concluding address of the conference, "The Way is Open and Goals are High." She reported that a number of SOC students had taken an active part in student panels for college and high school students, listhing: Dan Thomp son, Klamath Falls; Marie Walters, Shady Cove; Robert Alley, Ashland; and Dave Dickerson, Ashland. . Camp Fire Girls Take Hike Idaka Camp Fire group of Jackson school recently went on a five .mile hike in the Sams Valley area. The all-day . hike was part of the require ment for the rank the girls are working on. Each girl planned and cooked her own meals and carried all her own equip ment. It was dark before they returned, so they had an op portunity to - use the flash lights that they always carry. Girls making the trip were Joyce Funk, Pamela Herta ger, Madelne Meadors, Karen Murray, Evelyn Potter, Peggy Singler and Cheryl Smith. They were accompanied by ! the guardian, Ann Younger, and Mrs. Rufus Younger. The sponsors, Mrs. Robert Funk, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith, and Rufus Younger provided transportation. , Hike Held - Wa-Ke-Ku-Way group of s fifth and sixth grade Camp Fire Girls of Central Point - school hiked to Tou Velle ? park- on November 14th, tak- ing a trail lunch.
