Phoenix and Eagle Point, the defenidng titlist, mix at 8 p.m. with the league and Dis trict 6 A;2 southern division mantle to go to the winner. The victor will meet Suther lin or Glide next week end for the full district champion ship. ' The two Rogue loop clubs meet with like 4-0 records in the circuit. There will be an of fical statistician at the game. Comparative scores within the loop would ' seem to put Coach , Jack Woodward's Pi rates hi the favored role. But they are not using past per formances as a true measure of respective abilities and are prepped for a "whale" of a contest. Long Practices ' Phoenix had long practices both Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday the Pirates worked on protecting the punter and placekicker They scrim maged their defense against EP plays and dummy scrim maged their bwn offense. Center. Carl John son, who plays much, has a back sprain, and defensive back, Elvin Hawkins, a stal wart, has a hip injury. Not Giving Anything That makes the situation dark but Van Etten hopes to have Eagle' spirits up and aide Vern Steward says EP is not by any means giving them (the Pirates) any inches on the scrimmage line yet." Opening offensive align ment for Phoenix is expected have Othar- Richey and and Rickey Richey, tackles; Jack Hoffbuhr and Ron Ba ker, guards; Les Baker, cen ter; Gerald Sloper, blocking back; Dan Lumley, wingback; Mike Consbruck,- fullback, and.
