magnetic field.
Ground viewers of the total
eclipse, which occurred short
ly after dawn on Oct. 2 in a
40-mile wide strip that includ
ed Boston area,,were eclipsed
by clouds. However, radio as
tronomers at Harvard College
Observatory and the Air Force
Cambridge Reseach' Center,
unhampered by the low cTud
cover, reported that they had
successfully recorded effects
of the moon'a passage on the
sun's radio wave emissions.
