Mildred G. - I want ro
mance.
Mrs. D.G. - She's gotten
too casual and sophisticated
about men.
Mildred G. -1 am 25, single
and have never been in love.
I'm beginning to think I just
have no love in me.
In spite of this I've always
had plenty of dates. I enjoy
the company of men and I
love going out. And I would
like to have a home, children
and a normal life. So I'm be
ginning to think I ought to
marrv and learn to love
later.
A very nice man wants to
marry me now. My parents
think he's iust the greatest
He's nice looking, a gentle
man and I'm really fond of
him in a way. Yet at times I
think he's just too-too nice.
The truth is he bores me.
Mother says I won't be bored
after I'm married, but I hate
to aive ud all hope for a real
romance. After all, every girl
wants that.
Mrs. D.G-We're iust about
fed up with Millie. She's been
dating since 15 - always love
ly boys. Many of them are
nnw haDDilv married to
friends of hers.
I feel that Millie has gotten
inn casual and sophisticated
about men. She thinks she'll
always be young and pretty
miH nonular. She has this
dream man in mind and
doesn't bother to try to feel
anything for good old Tom,
Dick or Harry.
It seems that Millie doesn't
just let herself go and fall in
love the way a lot of girls do.
She never had crushes on
football heroes, movie stars
or singers. She used to think
the other girls were nuts.
Well, now it's time she tried
imitating them.
The Council: We can't rec
ommend a girl's marrying a
man who bores her, and we
certainly would discourage a
marriage made with the idea
that "all hope for a real ro
mance" was being given up.
But we think that Mrs.
D.G. shows some understand
ing of her daughter's problem
when she complains of her re
fusal to fix some emotion on
a real live person.- -
The fact that Mildred goes
out with men and they like
her is a pretty sure sign that
sh:. has some genuine feeling
for them. She does not choose
to call this feeling "love" be
cause she has a certain con
cept of love that is connected
with her concept of the ideal
man and the ideal romance.
If she ever did find a man
who seemed to fit the ideal
picture, she would quickly
become disillusioned because
her concept is rigid and real
people are not.
Mildred" expects love to
come to her from the outside
and refuses to recognize that
it grows from ' within. It
would grow from within
naturally 'and gradually, de
veloping from the pleasapt
associations she has with her
men friends - if she did not
obstruct this growth.
Boredom develops when a
relationship doesn t grow.
Mildred should realize that
she, as much as the man, is
responsible for her sense of
boredom. She has not brought
a certain vital spark to the
relationship and she feels its
lack. We think she ought to
try to rid herself of her ideas
about men and romance and
give herself more fully to her
actual relationships. She will
then find that she does, after
al!, have love in her.

Three Appear in
Circuit Court
Dudley Dan Solomon, 22,
of 408 East D st., Jackson
ville, was one of three men
appearing before Judge Ed
ward C. Kelly Friday irr cir
cuit court. .
Solomon was arraigned on
district attorney's informa
tion on a charge of contribut
ing to the delinquency of a
minor. He waived his right to
appearance before a grand
jury, and the case was con
tinued pending his plea. Lor
en L. Sawyer was appointed
his attorney.
Judge Kelly suspended im
position of sentence for three
years in the case of John Cor
bell, 19, of Grants Pass, who
had pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to
a charge of contributing to
the delinquency of a minor.
The imposition of sentence
n James Ear! Quates, 23, of
Georgiana, Ala., was suspend
ed for two years. Quates, who
had pleaded guilty July 16 to
a charge of burglary not in
a dwelling, " was placed on
probation for the two-year
