J - Nazarene Church Scene OfErickson-McUne Rites Miss Ellen Kay McUne be came the bride of Donald Ernest Erickson in a cere mony held August 29 at First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Waller C. Morris offici ated at the eight o'clock eve ning wedding attended by 200 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McUne, 1158 Court street. Eer father had only recently returned to the state as he was driver of the Rogue River valley wagon in the On-to-Oregon , Caval- cade wagon train, which was a Centennial project. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gustave ' Erickson, Moscow, Idaho. The newlyweds are making their t d9B Vast First street ' i Moscow. . Mrs. John Eby, aunt of the .' bride, played the organ wed 1 ding music and George H. McUne, brother of the bride, and Miss Leota McCullough ; were -soloists. Baskets of orange and white gladioli and candelabra decorated the ' churth. Given in marriage by her ; father, the bride wore a white net1 over; taffeta frock fashioned with bouffant skirt : which was accented with lace medallions. Her. fingertip length . veil was -held , by a crown of pearls and sequins and she carried a cascade bou , quet of white roses encircling ? a white orchids Her single ' strand of pearls was a . gift from the bridegroom. SV , Miss Carolyn Eby, Pasa ; dena, Calif., was honor at- -tnnrlant -fni- hr ronsin MlSS Nancy Eck, Miss Joyce Olden- kamp, Tillamook; and " Miss Muriel Westerlund, Portland, were bridesmaids. They wore sheath frocks with white net ? overskirts and carried white baskets of gladioli and i white and orange pompon ; chrysanthemums. Miss Eby's dress was in a "tangerine ; shade while the bridesmaids : were in a lighter, shade of orange. Little Susie Griffith - was flower girl and wore a dress similar to the brides . maids. , Dr. La Verne' Erickson, St. cLouis, Mo., served as best . man for his brother. Duane Erickson, Troy, Idaho,- cousin I of the bridegroom, - Larry I Halter, Portland, and Ruehl j Kerch,. Renton, Wash., seated " the guests. Timmy McUne, j nephew of the bride, was ring bearer and candlelighters were Ronald McUne, brother ' of the bride, and John Eby, ; cousin of the bride. For her daughter's wedding : Mrs. McUne wore an' oyster white sheath dress with orange and maverick . brown accessories. Mrs. Erickson chose a blue lace dress with : white accessories. Their cor . sages were white stephanotis. : Following the ceremony a reception was held at the ' church annex:' Mrs. Mattie House , decorated the rooms with flowers from her garden. Mrs. J. A. Larson cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Lowell W. Shepard pre sided at the punch bowL Miss Janel Erickson,. sister of the bridegroom, passed the bride groom's cake. Assisting with the -serving were Miss Linda Maestretti, Walla Walla, Wash., and Miss Janet BohL Mrs. George McUne Jr., sister- in-law of the bride, and Miss Melva Gebhard were at the gift table. Mrs. William Brew ster played music during the reception. Mrs. Joe Johnson was in charge of the event. The newlyweds traveled to San Francisco on their wed ding trip, the i bride wearing for traveling a silk tangarine dress with moss green acces sories. Her corsage was ' a white orchid. ' The bride attended Med ford schools and Northwest Nazarene college, Nampa. She is a secretary in the College of Law at the University of Idaho. Mr. Erickson attended Moscow schools, Northwest Nazarene college and is a senior at j-the University of Idaho where he is majoring in journalism. - Among the out of town guests attending were Mrs. Edna Fowler, Burns, grand mother of the bride; Mr. and Mrs., John Eby, Pasadena, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dunlap, Roseburg; Miss Teddi Fredericks, Boise, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Dunlap, Klam ath Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dunlap, Grants Pass. Marga ret Ruth Van Hoy became the bride of David Clyde Brooks in a ceremony held Thursday evening, August 27, at Hope Presbyterian church in Rogue River. The Rev. Robert Max son, pastor of the church, of ficiated at the eight o'clock double-ring ceremony, attend ed by 125 relatives and friends. ,The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Van Hoy, Rogue River, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Brooks, Rogue River. The church was decorated with pastel shades of gladio lus in tall white baskets, and bronze candelabra held light ed white tapers. The traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Robert H. WorralL at the organ. Given in marriage by her father, the-bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace, fash ioned, with elbow length sleeves, scoop neckline and fitted bodice trimmed with white satin. The full skirt was ballerina length. Her shoul der length illusion veil was held in place by a white vel vet tiara. The bridal bouquet was a white orchid encircled by white Stephanotis. Miss Helen Vin Hoy, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a frock of orchid chiffon, ballerina length, and carried a bouquet of . white chrysanthemums. Miss JoAnn Brooks, sister of the bridegroom, was brides maid. She . wore . a , frock of dusty-rose nylon net, balle rina length and carried white chrysanthemums. Anther sis ter of the bridegroom, Shirley Jean Brooks, was flower girL Her white taffeta dress was trimmed with a pink velvet cummerbund and she wore a headband of flowers. -. Candelighters were Miss Norma June Brooks and Miss Carolyn Brooks, also sisters of the bridegroom. Miss Nor ma June's frock was yellow chiffon, ballerina length, and her sister wore a ballerina length frock of lighf green nylon net. Their corsages were white, carnations. Ronald Laws served as best man for the bridegroom. Ush ers were Delain Willingham and Arthur Johansen. For her daughter's wedding and the reception which fol lowed Mrs. Van Hoy wore a nylon turquoise print with white accessories. The bride groom's mother; wore a two piece beige ensemble with white accessories. Their cor sages were white roses.
