Gold Hill
Couple
Honored
Gold Hill Mr. and Mrs.
William Bailey were honored
at a party September 5 which
observed their" 50th wedding
anniversary. The event, held
at their home a mile south of
Gold Hill on Old Stage road,
was given by relatives and
friends.
; The honored, couple re
ceived many gifts. "
, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey met at
a time when their families
were living in Wheeler, coun
ty, Texas, and were married
there September 5, 1909.
They moved to Yuma valley,
Ariz., where they lived for
28 rears, and then came to
Gold Hill 10 years ago: Mrs.
Bailey was born in Stonewall,
Okla., June 12, 1890, and Mr.
Baey was born- in Mac
donald county, Missouri,. Jan
uary 18, 1884.
Tne Baileys have eight chil
dren. They are Leonard E.
Bailey, Riverside, Calif.; Hu
bert E. Bailey, Gold Hill; M.
Sgt. Ralph Bailey, Baltimore,
Md.; Mrs. Francis L. Fohl,
Fort Ord, Calif.; William Lee
Bailey, Sumner, Wash.; Mrs.
Otto McCoy, Redland, Calif.;
Mrs. O. H. Fletcher, Yuma,
Ariz., and Thomas Bailey,
now in England where he has
been on Army duty.
Hubert Bailey and Mrs.
Fohl were with their parents
for the anniversary.
The Baileys also have 28
grandchildren and five great
grandchildren. -

Home Extension festival
which will be held at the Fair
grounds in Klamath Falls
Thursday, September 17.
Homemakers from Josephine,
Jackson, and Klamath Coun
ties will participate. ,
The meeting will convene
at 10 a.m. Mrs. E. H. Ahl
strom, District V chairman,
will preside. Principal speaker
will be Mrs. Roberta Frazier
who has recently joined the
Oregon State college exten
sion staff as family life spe
cialist. Mrs. E. E. Kilpatrick, Sa
lem, Ore., will also speak.
Mrs. Kilpatrick is the general
chairman of the National
Home Extension council con
vention committee. She will
tell of the last-minute plans
for the national convention to
be held in Portland ' October
