Cubs which teamed a place in the record J book as the longest nine-in-ning game in league history. - ! "My protest may make it ;:the longest game played un ":der protest in any league, any where," Rigney said. "But I J filed it right after the game 'and I'm anxious to see what's , done about it." 2 The Cubs, with' five home 3-uns among 19 hits, battered -the Giants 20-8, cooling off Cthe league-leaders hot streak tbf three straight victories and six in the last seven starts.
