LAURA McFALL Eagle Point - Mayor Ed Putnam announced that the Eagle Point city council will hold a public meeting on the proposed sewer for the city Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 8 p.m in the Eagle Point grade school gymnasium J. M. Gerow Jr. of the Ore gon State Sanitation commis sion; John Pletsch of the Jack son County Federal Savings and Loan association; B. Kent Blackhurst, and a representa tive from the John Cunning ham association will be pres ent to answer and discuss all phases of the proposed Eagle Point sewer. This project will include everyone who is a property owner in the city of Eagle Point. All are encouraged to attend. Soren Hansen, formerly of Tomah, Wise, is staying with his son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Hansen on Stevens rd. Hansen is a garage me chanic and hopes to work and make his home perman ently here. Mrs. Elizabeth Ottoson is staying with her daughter-in-law and family, Mr. nd Mrs. Oscar Frei. Mrs. Ottoson is a former Eagle Point resident and has been staying in Costa Mesa, Calif. A son, Harold, also lives in Eagle Point. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Stone and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Nelson and family of White City, Mr. Hooper of Medford, and Jimmy Bunker of Eagle Point, took several boys to Boy Scout camp at Camp McLoughlin at Lake of the Woods July 26. Attend ing were Arthur Harbison, Henry Wealthy, Gregg Hoop er, Terry Nelson, Morris Chamberlain, Victor Eccles ton, Stephen Cook, Wayne Cook, John Under, Steven Jorde, and Jimmy Stone. Jimmy Bunker, junior assis tant scoutmaster, will return to camp Wednesday to com plete the week of camping. visiting relatives and sight seeing. - Mr. and Mrs. Bob Holman went to Portland after their son, Dennis, last Thursday. Dennis was in the Providence hospital recovering from ma jor surgery. Mrs. Dorothy Brooks and her children, Randy and Paula, returned with her daughter and plans to spend a couple of weeks vacationing with them and her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Harper, Eagle Point. Mr. and Mrs. Earle Jossey, Eagle Point; Mr. and Mrs. John Bohnert, Central Point; Mr. and Mrs. Wallis Ragsdale, Lake Creek; and Mr. and Mrs. Chan Stokes, Roseburg, pack ed in with horses to Mink Lake in the Three Sisters primitive area for a week of camping and fishing. .They fished and reported that the elk in that area came into their campsite. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clay, King City, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Loren Clay and son, Steven, .Pattoensburgh, Mo., arrived July 24, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pul ley, Eagle Point, to spend a weeks vacation. Mrs. Pulley is the daughter of the Ralph j Clays and a sister to Loren ' Clay. While here they took a tour of Jacksonville, Wil low Springs resort, and have been water skiing. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Webb and Mrs. Webb's mother, Mrs. Grace Haskins and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Marshall and daughter, Eagle Point; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Y. Marshall, Brownsboro, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Colley, Ashland, had a picnic lunch at the Lake ofclauss parents, Mr. and Mrs the Woods Sunday. Marshall is the Eagle Point Icoutmaster and took a load if the Boy Scout equipment and bedding to camp and registered the boys there. He returned to Camp on Monday to stay with the boys until Bunker arrived on Wednes day. A larger group of par ents are expected to attend the Court of Honor. The Eagle Point Cub Scouts held their monthly pack meeting in the Eagle Point park July 26 with a pot luck luncheon. Receiving awards were Harold Harbison, bob cat; Bobby Wealthy, wolf, gold arrow, one year pin; Dany Barlow, wolf, gold ar row, silver arrow; John Do ver, gold arrow; Wayne Har bison, denner badge. Following the meeting, part of the group went swimming. The next pack meeting will be Aug. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Mc Fall and children, Willard, Debra, David, and Steven spent the week end at Klam ath Falls, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miller and son, Jim. They also called on sev eral of their former neigh bors from Nubieber, Calif., who are now living there. Gary Lee Webster and Laur inda McFall were week end guests at the home of Gerald Stewart, Medford, and Har old Dean McFall spent the week end with Billy Holmes, Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. David Kahl and Mrs. Harold Claus and daughter, Pa"tty, were in Portland July 25 and 26, to see Mrs. Claud's sister, Jene-vieve- Hufstader, who is con valescing at Emanuel hos pital and Dennis Reed, at the Providence hospital. They visited the Centennial Exposi tion before returning home via Mount Hood and Bend, where they visited Mrs Lloyd Lindsay. Mrs. Claus and Patty Jean left Tuesday noon for Bend to visit with her parents and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wooner, Mitchell, S. O Thursday, July 30, 1959 A Flocculant May Lessen Uranium Loss New York-(Science Service) -A new flocculant, a settling agent for solid-liquid separa tions, may decrease uranium losses by more efficiently, di viding the desired product from the waste. This high molecular weight polymer, called Superfloc 16 by its pro ducers, American Cyanamid company, is said to be . the most efficient settling aid yet developed. in addition to its use in uranium mining, the new floc culant may be employed for treating water and suspen sions of sewage, industrial wastes and chemical precipitates. Pres ent, were Mrs. Ed Kimmel, Mrs. David Kahl, Mrs. Her bert Perdue, Mrs. Jack Grow, Mrs. David Harbison, Mrs. Jerry Hannaford, and Mrs. Jim Herrington. - Alvin Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Simmons of South C st., broke his ankle Thursday evening playing withv the Foley's All Stars in Ashland. The All Stars are tied for first place with another team in Ashland YMCA Softball league. Dick Brown, Eagle Point, is also a player on the team. : Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Sim mons and Sharron spent the week end at Hiatt Lake with their sail boat. Mrs. Alice Mikesell stop ped in Eagle Point Sunday to spend a few days with her sister, Mrs. Glenn Clymer. Mrs. Mikesell is in the drap ery business and had been to Portland on business prior, to her stop here. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Clymer took her to Crater Lake Monday and at tended the "Feast of the Tribe of Will" in Ashland Tuesday before her departure for home in Hollywood, Calif., Wednesday morning. Mr., and Mrs.: Robert Far rington and four children from ''h Buff alo, N. Y., are spending a week with the Harold Ottoson family, Eagle Point; The Farringtons are traveling by . car sightseeing along the routes between New York and . Oregon. They made several tours of the mills around this area and plan on taking the Crater Lake route, home July 29. Mr. and Mrs. Augie Lewis and children, Henry, John, Bobby, and Mary Wealthy spent a week with Mrs. Lewis's brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Dean Clark of Guala, Calif. The Clarks formerly lived in Eagle Point until a few months ago. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Faro and children, Geary and Suzan, spent a couple of days with their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Augie Lewis and family. The Faros are from Lemmon, S.
