Socialist leaders were split on the issue of disarma ment, with the French delega tion strongly, opposing a Brit ish laborite proposal that all nations but the United States and Russia renounce nuclear arms. ! Two employees of the Nich olson Furniture Store told Sheriff Bob Twitchell that they rhad seized two men prowling the business office and had found $150 missing from the office. The employees, Dan Sand burg and Douglas O'Connor, said one of the suspects asked to be allowed to go to the bathroom while they were awaiting the arrival of sher iffs officers. While there, they said, the man got rid of all but $30 of the evidence. '" In the ensuing excitement, the second suspect fled. Among the six daily flights three northbound and three southbound, will be flights These flights will be the fast est local service between Med ford and Portland, it was re ported. The flights will have only one stop, Eugene, be tween the two points. The northbound flight will leave Medford at 7:40 pjai. after a 13-minute stop here arriving in Portland at 8:56 p.m. The Eugene stop of five minutes will be at 8:23 p.m. Southbound the same flight will leave Portland at 8:55 a.m. arriving in Medford at 10:10 ajn. The Eugene stop will be at 9:33 a.m. Leave Portland . ' ' The DC-3 flights leave Portland at 5:15 p.m. arriving in Medford at 7:25 p.m. after stops in Corvallis, Eugene, and Roseburg; and 7:40 a jn. which arrives in Medford at 10:13 a.m. with stops at Cor vallis, North Bend, and Rose burg. Northbound DC-3 flights leave Medford at ' 9:51 a Jh. and 7:35 pan. arriving in Portland at 12:08 p.m. and 10:06 p.m., respectively. The morning flight stops at Rose burg, Eugene and Corvallis while - the later flight has scheduled stops .at Roseburg, North Bend and Corvallis. West Coast Airlines report ed that about Sept. 1, they ex pect to schedule connecting flights to Boise, Idaho, via Klamath Falls, Lakeview and Burns. ; . : ' Council, Union to Appear in Court Portland (UPD - U.S. District Judge Gus J. Solomon Friday ordered the Salem Building Trades Council and Teams ters Union local 324 to appear in his court July 24. - They are to show cause why they should not be enjoined from alleged violations of fair labor practices in a wage, hours and working conditions dispute with Cascade Employ ers association. The show cause order was asked by the National Labor Relations board in a prelim inary inquiry tho NLRB found reason to believe a secondary boycott is being practiced by the Unions against sand and gravel concerns in Corvallis and Salem. A court injunction is be ing asked by the NLRB to prevent the unions from al leged) boycotting until ah in quiry is completed on Cas cade charges. Postal Supervisors Elect New Officers Corvallis (DPD - Election of officers was the main order of business Saturday at the annual convention here of thei Oregon branch of the Na tional Association 'of Postal Supervisors. . Supervisors expected to elect , Les Clark, assistant postmaster of Newberg, new president. Outgoing president was David Bennett, superin tendent of mails here. Other officers recommend ed by the group's nominating committee were Lee Gregory, North Bend assistant post master, vice president; and Clarence Buff am, assistant Beaverton postmaster, secretary-treasurer. The group chose Central Oregon as the 1960 convention area and left to the executive committee the decision of whether the session would be held in Bend, Redmond or Prineville.
