Miss Anderson's week were guests of Mr. Day's parents. The wedding to Mr. Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. bridegroom is a son of Earl Benjamin Day, Earl Benjamin Day Jr., Sams Valley, was North Pacific highway, former county judge, an event of June 20 in Holy Family Catholic Charlotte Riley, Steven Wisely Engaged to Wed Mr. and Mrs. William C. Riley, 616 Stewart avenue, an nounce th engagement of their daughter, Charlotte Joy, to Steven Ross Wisely, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd W. Wise ly, 724 West Jackson street. Miss Riley is a graduate of Medford High school and is a junior at Southern Oregon college. Her fiance, also a Medford High school graduate, has completed two years at South ern Oregon college and is now employed at Colyear Motor Sales company. A November wedding is being planned. Miss Charlotte Riley .. (Brainard photo) Families Travel To Glacier Park Two Medford families have been vacationing at Glacier National park in northwest ern Montana. Taking the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Voegtly and Lou Elsa and Carl, -2012 Westerlund drive, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Milnes, Greg and Vickie, 15 North Groveland avenue. The Voegtly family stayed at "the MacDonald hotel at Glacier and the Milnes at the Prince of Wales hotel, Alber ta, Canada. Both families 'planned to visit both Yellow stone and Grand Teton Na tional parks and return home early this week. Family Arrives Staff Sgt. and Mrs. William E. Cohee and children Karen, Randall and Richard of Ocean side, Calif., arrived Saturday for' an extended visit with Mrs. Cohee's father, F. B. Liddell, 712 South Newton street, and with other rela tives and friends in the valley. 'y' ":V : '-'. - v - ' , , v - : r: "WW Home Ceremony Marries Miss Taylor, Roy Vincent Table Rock - The wedding of Miss Peliny Taylor to Roy Vincent took place the eve ning of June 19 in the home of the bride's father, Aubrey Taylor, route 2, box 286, Cen tral Point. Four members of the fam ily have been married in the Taylor home. The bride's mother is Mrs. Robert Gilstrap, 1108 Queen Anne avenue, Medford. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Vincent, Sams Valley. Members of the immediate families attended the ceremony, which was per formed by Bishop Dwaine Nelson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints'. White bells and pink roses in pink, baskets decorated the living room. The bride wore a white ny lon gown designed-with a vee neckline and fitted bodice and full skirt. Her waist -length veil was held by white daisies. She carried a pink orchid. Couple to Wed In August Rites Miss Nancy Lee Rutledge, 748 West Fourth street, and John W. Gustafson Jr., 1056 Grape street, have set August 8 for their wedding. Miss Rutledge, a daughter of Mrs. Marie Rutledge, Wil- sonville, Neb., is a teacher at Oak Grove school. Her fiance, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gustafson, 923 Park avenue, is with the Dean and Taylor Pontiac company. He at one time served with the United States Marine Corps. Their wedding will be held in St. Mark's Episcopal church. Mrs. Fred Rankin Attends Meeting Mrs. Fred Rankin, Id Rich mond avenue, left Medford Friday for Salem where she attended the quarterly meet ing of the Oregon Council on Aging. Following the meeting Mrs. Rankin continued to Portland where she is a guest of Mrs. Clifford Zollinger. Mrs. Ran kin plans to attend Centen nial events while in Portland. 4 Electa'Social Club Plans Annual Picnic The annual picnic of Electa Social club will be held Frt day, July 17, at 12 noon at Hawthorne park. Ice cream, coffee and rolls will be furn ished. Members are asked to bring service and picnic dish es. Mrs. J. J. Brown and Mrs. H. M. Olson are in charge of arrangements. WEDDING... Announcements . She wore a pink nylon dress with fitted bodice and full skirt. Her flowers were white carna tions. . Joseph Stallings, Central Point, was best man. The bride's father gave her in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were hosts for the reception. The cake was made by the bride's stepmother. The bridegroom's mother cut the cake and Mrs. Jack Cleaves, aunt of the bride, poured. The couple is residing at route 2, box 285, Central Point, following their return from a wedding trip to the coast. For traveling the bride wore a blue and white frock. Both the couple attended Crater High school. Mr. Vin-cent-is employed by Standard Oil company. A shower for the bride was given June 17 at the Aubrey Taylor home by Miss Reba Taylor, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Floyd Taylor, the bride's grandmother. Bouquets of flowers and white bells decorated the rooms. Bride and bridegroom cakes shaped like bells were served with punch. Attending were the bride's great grandmother, Mrs. C. U. Thomas; her grandmother, Mrs. Edwin Taylor; Mrs. Jack Cleaves and Mrs. John Taylor, aunts of the bride; Miss Judi Taylor, cousin of the bride; Mrs. Emery Vincent, mother of the bridegroom; Miss Debra Taylor, the bride's sister; and Miss Irita Taylor, the bride's aunt. Other guests were Miss Lin da Ramsey, Miss Rebecca Far rell, Miss Jackie Gillespie, Mrs. Edward Robinson, Mrs. E. E. Robinson and Mrs.,Elmo Stallings. - t 1 Guests Here" . Mr. and Mrs. Tony Harvey, Apple Valley, Calif., were guests in Medford last week of Mr. and Mrs. David Fray sher, 2035 Sunset drive. The Harveys who were en route home after a trip into British Columbia, visited in Jacksonville while in the val ley. Mr. Harvey, member of the IOOF lodge, was especial ly interested in the historic Odd Fellow hall in Jackson ville. A Sunday, July 12, 1959 Rites Held At Church Wed Couple Eagle Point - Miss Darlene Marshall and Roy Colley were married in a ceremony held in Eagle Point Community church Friday, June 26. The Rev. Paul O. Kroon of Cen tral Point Community Bible church officiated for the double-ring ceremony, held at 8 o clock m the evening. About 90 relatives and friends attended the wedding, The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Y. Mar shall, Eagle Point, and .Mr. Colley is the son of Mrs. Leauy Biggers, Boise, Ida., and John Colley, Virginia. Mr. Marshall gave his daughter in marriage. The bride wore a white lace sheath dress with waist length veil and held by a flower headdress, and carried a cas cade of magnolia blossoms with a white Bible. Miss Anita Marshall, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor and Ann Marshall, another cousin, was flower girl. Miss Marshall wore a pink sheath dress and carried a bouquet of pink azaleas and white daisies. James Wright served as best man and ushers were Wayne Marshall, brother of the bride, and James Hinks. Mrs. Wayne Marshall took charge of the guest book while Miss Norma Noble assisted with the gifts. Miss Georgia Weidman was organist and Mr. Friesen sang. Mrs. Ernest Dahack decorated the-church with blue delphiniums and pink roses. Following the wedding cere mony, a reception' was held in the church parlors. Mrs. Roy Griffith cut the wedding cake, assisted by Mrs. L. C. Scott and Mrs. T. A. Tibbets presided at the punch bowl. The bride's mother wore a navy blue dress- with white accessories and a yellow rose bud corsage. The newlyweds are at home at 649 Normal avenue, Ash land. Mr. Colley is employed by Oregon Food store. Konopasek of 434 Haven street, Medford, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kay Rita, to Pvt. Richard Kent Schefers, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Schefers of 5179 Crater Lake highway, Med ford. Miss Konopasek is a grad uate of Medford high school and is employed at the M and M Agency in Central Point. Mr. Schefers also attended Medford high school and is now serving with the U. S. Pharmacy Phone SP 3-5345 Mrs. Larry Alan Van Ausdall (Landis photo) Medford Woman Attends Reunion Mrs. Grace Boyl recently visited her former home of Greensburg, Ind., for the first time in 47 years. Mrs. Boyl made the trip this summer in order to attend the city's cen tennial celebration, and also to be present for the reunion of her high school graduation class. Only three members of the class attended. Mrs. Boyl attended a cen tennial program and pageant, during which she was pre sented a plaque for having traveled the longest distance, about 2,400 miles, to attend. The Medford woman reports that when she was introduced, she told the assembled per sons about Oregon's Centen nial celebration and invited them to travel west to attend. While in Greensburg, Mrs. Boyl was a guest of a class mate, Mrs. J. Van Pelt Wood- fill. En route home, Mrs. Boyl stopped in Indianapolis to visit her relatives, Mrs. Mae Burk and Sherman Boyl. The Medford woman, who has lived here 48 years, was absent from her home at 1404 East Main street, for three weeks. - Republican Club To Honor Guest The president of the Oregon federation of Women's Re publican clubs, Mrs. Harold S. Strawn, Portland, will be a special guest at an informal coffee Tuesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Littrell, 140 Greenway circle. Miss Logan's father is Cus ter Logan of Modesto, Calif. New York Couple Valley Visitors Mr. and Mrs. George Wood will leave tomorrow for their home in Oneida, N. Y., after having been guests here of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Preece, 1181 East McAndrews road. The travelers, who made the trip west by plane, have visited Crater lake, and the Mt. Shasta area, and were taken salmon -fishing by their hosts. They will make the re turn trip by way of Portland to attend Centennial events and the trade fair. Dr. George G. Roseberry per formed , the wedding rites, which were held at 8 o'clock in the evening . at the First Methodist church in Medford. Fifteen relatives and friends attended. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman J. Nigl, 53 North Orange street. Par ents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Lee E. Van Aus dall, 338 Fairmount street, both Medford. The bride was given in marriage by Richard A. Loros of Medford. She wore a. white trapeze type gown of Chantil ly lace and carried a bouquet of white carnations encircling a white orchid. Mrs. Kenneth Myers at tended the bride as matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length gown of pink nylon and carried a bouquet of pink gladiolus. Best man was Kenneth Van Ausdall, brother of the bride groom. James Tizekker seat ed the guests and Douglas Culy lighted the candles. Baskets of pink and rose gladiolus with ferns decorat ed the church. The bride's mother wore a grey suit with pink accessor ies and a corsage of pink rose buds. The bridegroom's moth er wore a flowered nylon dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink rose buds. Following the ceremony a reception was given by the bridegroom's parents at their home. Fifteen guests attend ed. The wedding cake and punch were served by Mrs. Richard A. Loros. The couple made a wedding trip to the coast of Oregon and northern California. For traveling the bride wore a pink suit with white accessor ies. They are now at home at 1518A Bryant street, Med ford. The bridegroom, who at tended Southern Oregon col lege, is employed with the Bureau of Land Management. In California Mr. and Mrs. John Deaver, 402 West Second street, are in Ft. Bragg, Calif., to visit then-son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Donald E. Siddens. Mrs. Deaver left earlier in the week, and her husband planned to fly south today. Dr. and Mrs. Siddens are the parents of a son born July 1. The child weighed five pounds and 11 ounces and has been named Daniel John. The Siddens have an older child, a . daughter named Susan Lynn.
