Club Visits Ranch on River

The local Community club
traveled to the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Evan Maupin at the
Rogers Rogue River ranch on
the Crater Lake highway on
June 25.
A potluck dinner was
aerved. Guests were Mrs.
Harry DeJarnett and Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Barrett, Talent;
Mrs. Jack Clark, Medford;
and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ay
ris, Central Point, all former
Hilts residents and members
of the club.
Ladies making the trip
were Mrs. Fred Haynes, Mrs.
Art Blanchard, Mrs. M. G.
King, Mrs. Ozzie Bernheisel,
Mrs. Frank draves, Mrs. Walt
Adams, Mrs. Ernest Spannaus
and Mrs. Ethel White of Horn
brook. Canasta and pinochle
were played with high score
going to Mrs. DeJarnett and
low to Mrs. Haynes in pino
chle and high to Mrs. White
and low to Mrs. Ayris in ca
nasta. Mr. and Mrs. James Cain
and four children have re
turned home after a two
week's vacation visiting with
relatives in several Califor
nia cities. In Arvin they were
guests of Mrs. Cain's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Omar Miller,
and visited in Selma, Calif.,
with Mrs. Edith Ginn and in
Herndon with Mrs. Imogene
Bruce and sons. Both women
are Mrs. Cain's aunts. After
returning home the Cain fam
ily, accompanied by Miss
Dorothy Cain, Medford, drove
to Crater lake. On Tuesday
they visited in Central Point
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Krupp and family.
June 24 the birthday of

Schulte is the former Dorothy
Cummins, and with the ar
rival of her baby, Mr. and
Mrs. Rob Cummins become
grandparents for the fifth
time.

underwent major surgery
Monday morning at the Uni
versity of California hospital.
Mrs. Cummins planned to re
