The Manager's Words:
"Lefty OToole? Well, now
there's one player I wasn't
planning on trading."
"He's still got years left
in him."
"He's popular with the
rest of the team. They'd be
sorry to see him go."
"He's full of life. Wants to
play every night"
"Well, okay, if you really
need him, IH trade. But I'm
only doing this 'cause we've
known each other so long."
The Manager's Meaning:
"I gotta get rid of him or
pay off on that long-term
contract"
"Three, to be exact, before
Social Security."
"What a pushover in gin
rummy!"
"Mostly on the night-club
circuit!"
"I've waited eight years to
get even with you for the girl
softball pitcher you palmed
off on me."
An attractive young lady visited
the all-knowing fortune teller at
a circus. "Yes," said the fortune
teller, "I see a . handsome rich
man in your future who will
shower you with gifts and pro
pose marriage."
"What's he got in mind for my
husband and three children?"
asked the young lady.
