Yaquina Bay Project Approved Washington-ICPB-The House today approved legislation which provides $100,000 in pre-construction planning funds for the Yaquina Bay and Harbor project in Oregon. The measure passed was the public works appropria tion bill which makes appro priations for civil functions administered by the Depart ment of the Army for fiscal 1960. Rep. Walter Norblad (R Ore.) in February urged the House Appropriations com mittee to approve the plan ning funds for the Yaquina jroject. Save June 15th On Your Calendar Columbia River Traffic Heavy Portland -flJPD River traffic through Bonneville and The Dalles dams on the Columbia river and through Willamette Falls locks on the Willamette river is higher for the first five months of 1959 than, for the same period last year. Traffic for the period at Bonneville was 773,255 tons, compared to 685,254 tons last year. At The Dalles the total was 602,857 tons compared to 558,652. At Willamette Falls it was 413,969 compared to 373,780. Decomposed Leg Found in Portland Portland (DPD A badly decomposed lower, leg was found floating in Johnson creek Monday. Sheriffs offi cers said the right foot was clad in a combat-type boot. Capt. Howard Kelly of the sheriffs office said it was not determined if the leg was that of an old or young per son. Industrials in their seventh day of decline were at their lowest level in a little more than a month. Rails were down to April 1 ' levels and utilities at their worst since Dec. 2 in the widest decline since Nov. 25. The industrial average near the close was down 25.54 points or 4 per cent from the year's high. Rails were down 9.10 points or 5.4 per cent from their high, while utili ties showed a loss of 8.71 points or 10.3 per cent. Selling late in the day hit key issues hard. Procter & Gamble, an outstanding blue chip, was knocked down more than 3 points. Losses of more than 2 points in General Elec tric, American Tobacco and Goodyear also were factors in driving down the industrial average.
