WATSON Shady Cove-Trail-A num ber of people from this area attended the exhibit of ar ticles made by the Eagle Point High school students in the shop and other classes held at theagle Point High school Wednesday evening. Ralph Goode was one of the boys who made a table and Jimmy Vanderlip and Cartee Wood were among those mak ing a boat. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bogart, of Camp White have pur chased the Adrienne Dippel house at the entrance to the Cove and are tearing down part of it to remodel the house. Bogart is employed as a dental technician at CampfF ort Lewis, Wsh., to visit with Whitev Mr. and Mrs. Ruf us Trusty of Elk Creek, Trail are plan ning a trip to Klamath Falls nexJL week, where they will attend the graduation exer cises at the Klamath Union High school for their grand son, Charles Trusty. Their son. Bill Trusty, of Klamath Falls has been visiting them this week. Mr.nd Mrs. R. S. Lodge of Tigard, Ore., and Mrs. Dar- -rell David of Newburg, Ore., spent the Memorial day week end visiting with their uncle, Tom King, of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kelley of Shady Cove went to Myrtle Creek and Glendale, Ore., on Memorial day, where they ' decorated the graves of their family and relatives. . Mrs. Burt Craven of Trail who has been ill in bed is re ported to be much improved and back at work in the Trail store. Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Seges- senman of Shady Cove made a trip to Eugene over the Me morial day week end, where they visited with Eva's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Vosson. Mrs. Vosson is ill at home." Mr. and Mrs. Joe Waltz a$d family of Shady Cane srfent the holiday ; week end vaca tioning and fishing at Four Mile lake. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Motschenbacher of Shady Cove have been Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sheldon of Ashland. - , Mrs. .William Shepherd and Mrs. Floyd Kelley, both of Shady Cove Junior high school. The Shady Cove -Garden club won a blue ribbon at the show, the incoming president, Mrs. Shepherd, won a blue ribbon for line arrange ment and third prize on an other arrangement fox coffee O table. The phone line to the home of Dave Bergren was usy Thursday evening wit&friends calling to congratulate the family on the winning the boat given away by the Gro ceteria. Vi . When . the . news came, Dave Bergren was out painting a boat that they had just purchased to take the place of the one they bad ruined in an auto acci dent about a year ago. The value of the boat they won is about $2,000. Harry Rogers of Indian creek, Shady Cove, is now convalescing at home after spending some time confined in a Portland hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thorne and two small boys of Shady Cove were involved in an auto accident Thursday near Medford on Highway 62. Mrs. Thorne remained for ob servation and treatment in Sacred Heart hospital follow ing the accident but the rest of the family were treated and released. . Betty Stowers has returned -to Shady Cove from Bakers field, Calif., where she has been living, and has rented one of (fvalt Mallory's 'houses. Betty is the former Betty Mott and previously lived foaJ some time in- and ., arouna Shady Cove. The Shady Cove Home Ex tension Unit met at the home of Mrs. Peter Nashed of Shady Cove for the final . meeting of the year, the club now having adjourned for the sum mer. Fifteen members and one, guest, Mrs. Don Catta nach, attended. Installation of officers was held with Mrs. John Lowery being installed as chairman for a second term; Mrs. Frank Linden as vice chairman, Mrs. Harold Biddle, treasurer and Mrs. . Max Hawks, secretary. The subject for the meeting was "Clothes and You," and William Shep herd showed the film in con nection with it. A potluck luncheon was held at noon. Mr; and Mrs. Tom Burdett of Shady Cove made a trip to Roseburg over the Memor ial day week end, where they O Wednesday, Jum 3, 1959 visited the oM family ceme tery and decoftted the graves of relatives. The Bloodmobile will be in Shady Cove on Tuesday, June 9 from 2 to 7 pan. At least 150 signers will be need ed to fill the quota for this area. He had several buddies with him who also visited with the Gusland' s, Robert Hastings of La Crosse;. Wis.; RJbhn Pool of Anderson, Texas; Mike Bonney of Ashland, Wis., and Gail Vickory of Des Moines,' Iowa. Tim is attached to the Transportation Corp. Mrs. .Harvey Markley and children, John and Carolyn, of Seattle, Wash., stoppedxon their way south to California to visit with0 Mrs. Markley's aunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. WilHam Shepherd, for a few Dick Wheeler of Indian creek rd.. Shady Cove, has been appointed as representa tive in this area for the farm er's Insurance Group of Med- ford, and can write any type of auto, theft, firo liability and casualty insurance. Members of the Shady Cove Grange held a surprise party and potluck dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Motschenbacher of Shady Cove, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Vanderlip of Shady Cove who have purchased the property in Ashland and are moving there. But it was obvious, he added, that the government simply had to do something to avoid financing too much of the $288 billion public debt with short-term securities. -He said it was true that he was disturbed , over . recent polls showing a decline in the national acceptance of ,the Republican party. ;He said plans to attack .the situation were being ' drawn ' up and would be announced in the near" future, presumably by the Republican National Com mittee.
