A recent visitor at Prospect was Miss Louise Ingle, who was a teacher in the Prospect Grade school until she moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., in 1958. Miss Ingle visited the Worlds Fair in Brussels, Ireland, the British Isles and five coun tries on the European contK, nent and Algiers in Africa last year. Wednesday, May 13, the last health clinic of the school season was held at the com munity hall. Forty-six indi viduals were served, includ ing three adult polio shots, one pre-school examination, three school children and 39 children. The next health clinic will be for pre-school children in August. Carolyn Holt was honored at a party at her home at Copso May 12. The following girls from the third grade at tended: Brenda Adams, Mabel Allen, Mary Sue Bastiani, Cheryl Bliss, Yvonne Walters, Ellajn Slack, Judy McLaugh lin and Jackie Parton. Also attending were Susan and Da vid Holt. Games were played and prizes were won by Ma bel Allen and Cheryl Bliss Refreshments were served. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sweat is Mrs. Sweat's sister and brother, Mitze and Terry Garner, of Lone Pine, Calif. With the Garners is a friend Pat Holt. The seniors of Prospect High school arrived home late Sunday night after a trip south. They chartered a bus and left Medford Thursday afternoon. They visited the San Francisco Chronicle, Chi natown, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate park, Twin peaks, the Cliff House, north beach, Mission, play land, Sheraton - Palace hotel and many residential sections. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest B Wright Jr. and son, David, left Union Creek Monday to move to Washington. Wright has been timber sale officer in the Union Creek district for 3V2 years and recently was transferred to assistant dis trict ranger, Mt. Baker Na tional forest, Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bur- rill visited Burrill's mother, who is ill, in Battle Ground, Wash., last week end. The annual spring musical held in the high school gym last week was a success with a large crowd attending. The program included talent from both the high school and the grade school with Mrs. Nel lie Vannice directing. Each grade school class was repre sented by both a chorus and a band and there were instru mental and vocal numbers The high school was repre sented by the chorus singing, "Oh What a Beautiful Morn ing" and a piano duo and or gan ensemble featuring Mrs. Vannice, Celeste Burrill and Janet Bean. The program was climaxed by the complete cho rus from both schools singing the new Centennial- song, "You're in Oregon My Friend." Word has been received here recently that the Rev. Forrest Bard and family have sold their home onJSlk creek and are moving to Klamath Falls where- Mr. Bard is em ployed by the state forestry department. Mr .Bard is a for mer pastor of the Prospect Assembly of God church; Among the flu victims here this week ace Mrs. George Wayman and daughter, Billy Mae, Mrs. Robert Sharp and daughter, Ruby, Mrs. George Brown and grandson, Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes and many others. Flu has hit Pros pect hard and youngsters have missed many days of school. Some have had it three times and at least three cases have ended in pneumonia. The Prospect WCTU met at the home of Mrs. Hope Hedgpeth May 12. Plans were made for a float in the Jam boree parade and letters were written to officials and con gressmen regarding liquor consumption. President Eisenhower has directed that an official funeral be held for the former secretary of state. Youth Repudiates Portland-iUPD-Partic David Smith, 15, has repudiated his confession to the slaying of an elderly woman in a variety store just southeastof here ear lier this month, his attorney said Tuesday. Smith has told his attorney, George Van Hoomissen; his priest and his parents he is not responsible for the hammer-knife slaying of Mrs. Min nie Swetland, 75. The youth said he found the body in the store and be came "panickey" and fled.
