The fund raising commit tee suggested future money- j raising projects such as a pie social and a dance. All clubs would be invited to the dance. The treasurer's report was given by the treasurer, Jon athan Johnson. A motion was made and seconded instruct ing the treasurer to pay for ' the secretary's cards sent to announce meetings. Club members voted to have a float ' in the Phoenix Fall Festival. Allen Harris t was put in charge of erecting the float with the help of Ronald Willock, Spencer Buff ington and Jonathan Johnson. Charle3 Swingle, was named chairman of a committee' to select a game for the festival . 4-H booth. Assisting him will be Fred Swingle, Jim Martin and James Scott. Mrs. Ed ' Daugherty, ' Mrs. Cecil Red- . ding and Nedra Harris are to make out a working schedule. Judy Campbell, Dorothy , James and Penny Simmonds . were chosen to select prizes. : Cooking and horse . clubs presented part of the last two meetings. Before the lunch members learned to set a table correct ly. Salads and muffins were served. Six members and five mothers were present. Georgia-Pacific To Double Plant Portland (LTD Georgia-Pacific Corporation said Wed nesday it planned to double its pulp and paper operation at Toledo, Ore., and also an nounced plans for a new pulp and paper plant at Samoa, Calif., near Eureka. President of Georgia-Pacific Paper company, H." Stuart Daniels, said work would be gin at Toledo within one month. Paralylic Polio Said on Upswing Washington -4UPD- The Pub lic Health Service has warn ed that paralytic polio is on the upswing. The number of cases during the first four months of this year were nearly double the same .period last year. Dr. John D. Porterfield, acting surgeon general, ap pealed to the public to get polio shots. He pointed out that last year polio increased 45 per cent over 1957. work already is under way for the Samoa plant, which is ex pected to be in production early in 1962. Daniels said a second paper 3 machine at Toledo would be j H in production by mid-1960. Both the new additional Toledo and the Samoa plant will utilize wood chips made from leftovers at Georgia-Pacific's plywood and lumber mills in the two areas. The Toledo mill was com pleted in 1957 with a 250-ton capacity. This was increased by 40 per cent by the end of 1958. Production with the ad dition will be up to more than 600 tons a day.
