Executives of the Neo Gravure Printing Co., Wee hauken, N. J., said the money was paid to Harold Gross, ex convict president of teamsters Local 300 in Miami, and to Cornelius Noonan, head of Lo cal 1730 of the International Longshoremen's Association. They said $45,750 was paid to the pair during a 1948 teamsters strike to make pos sible night deliveries of news paper supplements to the New York Times and Mirror. The company prints Sunday supplements for a number of East Coast newspepars. Its of ficials said the Times and Mir ror later reimbursed Neo Gravure for the payments to the union officials. Payments lor eace Sen. Karl E. Mundt (R-S.D.) suggested that officials of the two newspapers be asked whether they deducted the payments as business expenses for tax purposes. The Neo Gravure execu tives said Gross was pam 5100,000 over a 13-year period to keep peace with the team sters. Committee staff members said Gross was hired several mnntha after .being paroled from Sing Sing prison where he had served about three of a sentence for ex- tnrtion. Heintz Construc tion Company, Portland, was apparent low bidder witn a bid of $1,854,672 for 4.19 miles of grading on the Mc Kenzie river-Willamette river section of the relocated Pa cific highway. Thugs Hold Bank Manager Captive Ontario, Calif. - (UPD - Two bandits held a bank manager prisoner Tuesday night and Bank of America branch ' Wednesday morning before fleeing with an estimated $60,000 to $70,000, the FBI announced. The two men went to the home of Manager Frank Col ella about 9 p.m. Tuesday. They forced the manager and his wife and his father into the Colella car and drove them around throughout the night.
